When you arrive at the Grand Chancellor you will find a tiny front drive that can fit about 4 cars, where you are supposed to be able to park, check in, and then move your car to their underground parking. However, this front drive is not monitored so when we arrived the driveway was completely full with no one there to direct us anywhere. We drove around the block to enter the underground parking and unloaded our bags which we had to carry up the stairs from the parking garage as there was no guest lift that we could easily find (good luck if you have trouble with stairs). At the bottom of the stairs there is a button that you can supposedly use to call someone to assist with your bags. We tried to use this and though we could hear the bell upstairs, it was not answered (even just to let us know that someone would come), so we gave up and carried our bags up the stairs. Upon arrival to the room, we noticed it was clearly very dated. We could see some effort had been made to update the rooms visually but the installations felt very half-****d. For instance instead of a shower curtain for the bath tub there was a half glass pane that is delightfully too short and instead bounces water off its side and onto the floor. A rainfall showerhead had also been installed but it seemed like an afterthought as it was crooked and had poor water pressure. We then tried to use the pool. Upon entry, I felt like I was taken back in time to the days of dark and damp fitness centers and unmaintained pool floors & furniture. There were no staff nearby and the entire area was a mess. Walking into the locker rooms was a shock with horrible banged up smelly lockers (many of which were open but had no key to lock it!) and awful grey blue shiny tiles that bounce the cold flickering white light around. The shared sauna between male and female locker rooms was also a joke. We left without even bothering to get changed or use the pool. We then attempted to dine at the restaurant in the hotel lobby. The host at the front asked if we had a reservation which we did not. He then looked around at the many empty tables as if he was not sure what to do and then asked us to ”wait outside” as he checked availability. We have never been asked to exit any restaurant whilst they searched for a table (even in much busier restaurants) and we were very frustrated by this request. We waited outside over 5 minutes and then decided to leave and ask the front desk staff for other local restaurant recommendations. As we were on our way out, we noticed the restaurant host was hovering nearby as if he had found us a table and was waiting for us to be done but we left without another look. Upon arriving back in our room after dinner and turning off the lights to sleep, we were graced with the hallway light streaming through the large cracks in the poorly fitted door. Zugang zum Niveau 2 ist über eine enge Kreistreppe ... schwierig, einen regulären Sack mit einer Größe aufzuholen und sicherlich nicht für jemanden mit Mobilitätsproblemen zugänglich. Für uns war es gut. Check-in und Parkplatz etwa 10min von der Wohnung. Lage ist ausgezeichnet sehr in der Nähe Salamanca und Verfassung Dock-Bereich. Einrichtungen OK. Gute Betten und OK Küche. Ein wenig “in” aber komfortabel. Begrenzte Aussichten von versiegelten Fenstern über das Abwasser von angrenzenden Gebäuden. Einige Wasserschäden an Wänden. Insgesamt ein guter Aufenthalt und wir würden hier wieder bleiben.

Dieses Hotel hatte die schlimmste Eincheckung, die ich je erlebt habe. Ich war für 1 Nacht gebucht. Ich wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass ich ohne Foto-Identifikation nicht einchecken konnte. Ich wurde nie um dies in Tasmanien gebeten (ich bin ein Bewohner). Ich habe das nicht auf mich, weil es in meinem Fahrzeug war, das von dem Diener genommen wurde. Ich konnte 3 Kreditkarten in meinem Namen und sie hatten die Kreditkartendetails, die von meinem Geschäftsbetrieb, für die Kosten des Aufenthalts. Vergessen wir nicht, dass sie auch die Schlüssel für mein $40k Fahrzeug hatten. Der Manager weigerte sich jedoch, zu bürochen und erlaubte mir nur zu bleiben, nachdem er mich gegoogelt hatte - Glücklicherweise wurde ein Profil-Bild von meinem Arbeitsplatz als ok angesehen - und nur, nachdem ich mich bereit erklärt habe, auf meiner persönlichen Kreditkarte zu zahlen. Ich werde nicht mehr hier bleiben.

From Check In to Check Out, the experience was seamless. Fantastic accommodating staff, large, practical and comfortable room. The best bath robes of any hotel anywhere on the planet. Cannot recommend highly enough. Having stayed at many other top tier Hotels in Hobart, would not stay anywhere else when we next return. 11/10.

Wir blieben im 5. Stock vor der Hauptstraße, aber das Zimmer war sehr ruhig, ohne irgendwelche Lärm von dem Verkehr oder angrenzenden Zimmern. Das Personal war extra hilfreich. Wenn Sie für das Frühstück bezahlt, umfasste es sowohl kontinentale als auch heiße Lebensmittel mit einer sehr breiten Auswahl, um alle Ernährungsbedürfnisse zu passen. Das Restaurant spezialisiert sich auf asiatische Mahlzeiten. Die Captain's Chicken und Potato Curry waren ein Favorit. Die Zimmer waren sauber und 100% funktional, da eine Wartungsfeedback-Form in jedem Zimmer verbleibt. Die Schalter stoppen das Licht für diejenigen, die gerne schlafen oder über Jet-Langsam. Sicherheit wurde durch den Zugang zu den Aufzügen durch Zimmerkarte verbessert. Es war eine 10-minütige Spazierfahrt zu allem, eine 3-minütige Spazierfahrt zum Skybus-Stop und 5-minütige Spazierfahrt zum Hop-on-hop-off-Stop. Guter Wert und empfohlen.

The Bay Apartments are a good value but simple place to stay in Hobart. We stayed here for 1 night this week, in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean but small. It had an overpowering smell of cleaning products when we arrived but this dispersed during our stay. The bathroom is a traditional shower-over-bath, and there is a small living area and flat screen TV. There is a small cooktop and sink, and a bar fridge. The apartments are a short walk to a large range of restaurants, a Woolworths and a Cole. There is also a pub (almost) next door. It is a short drive to Hobart CBD and there are public buses out the front. We were apprehensive at first as it was quite noisy (noise from other guests and from the road), but this didn’t affect our sleep quality. There is parking outside the unit and one reverse cycle aircon unit in the living area. Don’t expect a fancy property- this is a basic but well presented unit at an affordable price point, not a $300/nt property. If you set your expectations correctly this is a very good property. The stairways to the upstairs appartments are very narrow and it is difficult to carry large cases up and down. I’d stay here again if looking for a basic stay in Hobart, but probably not for multiple nights.

I am very disappointed as I thought I booked a room in Wrest Point but instead it was in adjacent property called Motor Inn. I felt that I have been cheated as the picture in the booking details showed me Wrest point Towel and not Motor Inn. I thought the room was called Motor Inn as I have not been there to know the existence of Motor Inn. When I queried about it, they said it was the agent's (trip.com) fault . To move to the main tower will cost me an extra of $80. I felt I have been conned and they should have placed the Motor Inn building photo instead of the tower of Wrest Point in their website for booking. (It is deceptive marketing - show you a ferrari for sale and got a lemon after you have paid for it) Motor Inn is an old building and does not have lifts to the room we were allocated and being retirees , we have to carry our bags up to 2 flights of stairs. On top of that, the room walls were not sound proof and you can hear every customer slamming their doors and flushing their toilets. I thought we have booked the room with the sea view instead there were only bushes as a window view. It was so embarrassing when I thought I could request for a room on a higher floor in wrest tower for good views but instead shown out of the door to an old adjacent building call Motor Inn. In all its websites and advertising, there is not 1 photo to show Motor Inn as Wrest Point . It has always being the tower used to promote the sale of their rooms. The Bistro food is poor quality and costly. We order from the caviary and the food came out to be cold and dry. We wanted to try the other 2 restaurants Kwan Ho and the one on the 17 th floor in the main tower but were told they were close. I thought being a top notch hotel, their restaurant will be open 7 days instead they are closed 2 days.( sun and mon). - the days we were there sat,sun,mon) They have a fantastic location but sad to say they don't have the marks of a 5 star hotel. The first picture is what I thought I booked but the second picture is actually what I got. The 3rd picture is what is in the website for booking and the last picture is what you get.

Parkplatz ist einfach mit Parks direkt außerhalb Ihrer Einheitstür. Insgesamt, toller Ort zu bleiben, aber ziemlich Hilly, wenn Sie in die Stadt gehen wollen.
