We bought our stay through WOWCHER and things went wrong from the start .Trying to contact the Hotel was impossible with no one seemingly able to pick up a phone or answer an email .I thought at first that the Hotel had maybe closed down but i eventually got through by contacting Bespoke Hotels direct .All this to just book Dinner .WOWCHER sold it as Hexham - no actually nearly 6 miles from Hexham but in a really lovely spot .We were allocated a TWIN room eventually but we wanted a DOUBLE - which were on the website when i was trying to make contact originally but none were available when we eventually got through .I also have a back issue which means walking any distance or LOTS of Stairs is impossible but i do have a Mobility Scooter .They managed to swap our Twin with someone else's Double and we got one in the annex part of the building on the ground floor .I was doing so well with my walking when i arrived and actually just managed with my stick - all that was about to change .We drove around to our room and it became evident that i would not manage the walk internally to the Restaurant so i would have to use the Scooter .The Room its self was basic and in a definite need of a paint as the walls were marked but the biggest problem was the Heating .Even though it had the knobs to turn it up/down , they didnt work and it was on full belt. You ask any woman of a ”Certain ” age what the biggest problem is at that age and they will tell you its been too hot in bed at night .We have Polar Bears and Penguins wondering around at home as i like it really cold but the only way we could get the heating turned down was by going to Reception and she asked the Manager ? Give them there due , they did turn it down but by the time we got back from Dinner , it was full belt again .Some Man in the next room , let out an almighty burp , so you can tell how thin the walls were .The next problem was that it was dark outside , so i couldnt use the Scooter as i couldnt see where i was driving or over what and it was also raining and you cannot use them in rain so we had to drive back round to the Front Door . The Dinner itself wasnt bad but we thought quite overpriced .We had the Charcutier Board for 2 - 2 slices Ham , 2 slices Prosciutto , 2 slices Salami , 2 pieces Cheddar , a piece of Goats Cheese and a Baguette with some Piccalilli and Branston - £19 ???? As we had £50 F&B Voucher included , our Dinner cost an extra £27.90 with my Hubby having Fish and Chips (overcooked Chips) and i had Belly Pork - 3x3x3 inch with Mash and Red Cabbage - really boring . After Dinner we went back to the room and after watching some TV , we went to bed .I woke up around 1 ish and the Room was RED HOT AGAIN - EVEN WITH THE WINDOW OPEN .We coudnt leave the Curtains open as there was a Motion Sensor Security Light in the Car Park that was creating a Disco effect in our room everytime a random animal went past .Unfortunately the Curtains were that thick , they let very little cold a

Langley Castle. Vielen Dank an das Team von Langley Castle für unseren Aufenthalt so besondere und magische. Ich hatte keine Ahnung, wo ich hingehe, bis wir an das Schloss angekommen waren. Ich wusste nur, dass wir übernachten und das Abendessen eine gute Essenserfahrung sein wird, und eine der besten, die wir in den Jahren hatten. Drive through the forest and following the long winding road, we finally arrived at Langley Castle woodland estate Northumberland . Ich dachte an mich selbst’ als die Burg kam in Sicht ‘ OMG. Als wir beide zum Schloss gingen, war es vollkommen atmen, mit dem riesigen Quellen sitzen so elegant vor dem Schloss, zusammen mit der wirklich schönen Landschaft Umgebung. Wir gingen durch die riesige Holztür des Schlosses’ und in die große Burghallway- WOW 😮 nur WOW. Das Schloss ist in der Geschichte steif. Knights stand still in traditionellem Armor, a beautiful wooden staircase that traveled as far up’ as the eyes could see, along with stunning period furniture, flags and pictures that mixed in so well with this 640 year old castle , und 7 Fuß breite Steinwände. Das wunderschöne Zeichnungsraum mit blasen Logfeuer, Tracern und gefärbtes Glas, zusammen mit der Eichen-panelierten Cocktailbar, loben die intimen Natur des Josephine Restaurant. Das Restaurant serviert das Essen ist von der höchsten Ordnung mit einem 2AA Rosette, die das meiste von frischem, lokalem Produkt mit Fisch und Spiel eine Spezialität macht. Sobald wir angemeldet wurden, wurden wir in unserem Zimmer gezeigt. Als wir uns in das berühmte Zimmer namens Derwentwater Zimmer begeben haben, nachdem Earls of Derwentwater (James und Charles Radcliffe) und beide Earls im Tower of London für ihre Teile in den Jacobite Rebellionen von 1715 und 1745 getötet wurden. Ein Schrein für die Brüder liegt einen kurzen Spaziergang . Einmal wieder, als wir ins Zimmer ‘WOW’ 😮 Das Zimmer war großartig, um das wenigste zu sagen, mit seinen schönen vier Posterbetten, hohen Decken, draped schöne rote Gräben, Feuerplatz und erstaunliche Zeit Möbel. Autor JK Rowling kam nicht einmal, sondern FÜR FREI mal in diesem Schloss zu bleiben, um die Harry Potter-Bücher zu inspirieren. Die Burg wird von einer „Grauen Lady“ besessen, die als Maud de Lucy, Witwe von Sir Thomas, bezeichnet wird, die sich aus einem Fenster geworfen hat, nachdem er Nachrichten über seinen Tod im Kampf von Shrewsbury erhalten hatte. Autor JK Rowling schrieb in den Harry Potter Bücher, die Moon Myrtle, hinter der berühmten Maud de Lucy - Gray Lady. Die riesigen langen Windtrappen, die so hoch in die Spitze des Schlosses reisen, so weit wie die Augen in die Dunkelheit sehen konnten, wurden auch in die Bücher von Harry Potter - der berühmten Treppe von Hogwarts geschrieben. Der amerikanische Baron Stuart Madnick und seine Frau (unglücklicherweise verlassen) besitzen das Schloss Nordumberland. Stuart Madnick, der John Norris Maguire Professor für Informationstechnologie und Ingenieursysteme, besitzt seit 1985 das Schloss Langley in England. This pub is an absolute hidden gem!!! The atmosphere, beer, welcome, food and local amenities was all faultless. Phil and his staff couldn’t be more welcoming and I can’t wait to visit again!! The pub has a fantastic open fire for cold evenings, a great selection of beers, great food and just an all round superb vibe! The village is lovely with excellent walks from the pub itself. There is a post office with cash machine, Co-op store and traditional butchers all within a hundred yards. There’s literally everything here you could ever need including a quoits pitch in the rear beer garden! Yes quoits! A local team still play from there! The rooms were spacious and very clean!

Wir kamen früh und unser Zimmer war bereit. Die Spa-Anlagen waren angemessen. Nur Kommentare sind einige Aktualisierungen erforderlich, um die Rockeffekte um den Pool herum zu erzielen. Das Essen im Clarets Jug war gut. Dessert ein bisschen enttäuschend. Das Personal sehr freundlich und Neville nicht sicher sein Titel, sondern war ein perfekter Gentleman. Er hat unser Gepäck ohne Anstrengungen nach und aus unserem Schlafzimmer transportiert. Neville war sehr freundlich und freundlich. Hoffentlich sehen wir ihn nächstes Mal, wenn wir ihn besuchen.
