Auch mit allen COVID-Beschränkungen hatten wir einen großen Aufenthalt! Zunächst in der Forrest mit ausgezeichneten Wander- und Radmöglichkeiten. Das Personal war absolut fantastisch, immer bereit, zu helfen und sicherzustellen, dass alles perfekt organisiert ist. Soweit möglich alle Gäste, wo mit einer Möglichkeit zu Fuß und soziale 1,5 m entfernt! Beide Restaurants, wo fabulös, großartiges Essen, Ich würde die 10 Kurs kleine Gerichte empfehlen! Großer Aufenthalt!

We had a fantastic dinner in the hotel, which was only out done by the exceptional service we received. I wamted to call out Abner who served our table and was quite exceptional. Thank you Abner, we will return and hope you are waiting on us once more. Awesome and very professional.. you are a credit to the hotel.

Van donderdag 8 februari tot en met zaterdag 10 februari in hotel Van de Valk in Sneek verbleven. We hadden een driedaags arrangement geboekt met èènmaal een diner. Wat een mooi hotel is dit. De ontvangst was erg vriendelijk. We hadden kamer 312, een comfort kamer, met uitzicht op het parkeerterrein. De kamer was zeer ruim, badkamer met aparte stortdouche en een heerlijk groot ligbad. De bedden waren zeer goed en lagen heerlijk. In de kamer stond zelfs een klein bankje. Het diner was een driegangenmenu. Voorgerecht een mosterdsoep en carpaccio. Hoofdgerecht de kipsaté en de schnitzel. En als nagerecht de dame blanche en de crème Brulee. Dit was allemaal heerlijk. We zijn in al verschillende Van de Valk hotels geweest maar dit was wel de beste tot nu toe.

Der Name Post prägt das Hotel: ein umgebautes ehemaliges Postamt. Sehr behutsam ist man mit den alten Sachen aus der Postzeit umgegangen. Überall schöne Erinnerungen an dieser Zeit. Das Zimmer (Comfortzimmer) groß, sauber, schönes Bad, sehr hell. Bequeme Springboxbetten. Das junge, recht lustige Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Die Corona-Maßnahmen werden gut erklärt, es gab (noch) keine Maskenpflicht. Vor den Hotel stehen lustige Leihräder (bakfietsen!!). Das Zentrum und die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten sind sehr nah. Auch in Corona-Zeiten ein üppiges, sehr leckeres Frühstückbüfet. Es gibt sogar ”wentelteefjes” (eine Art armer Ritter) aus dem friesischen Zuckerbrot. Das Frühstück wird in dem prächigen Grand Café serviert. Das Hotel ist absolut geeignet für einige Ferientage in der schönen friesischen Hauptstadt Leeuwarden. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne in nicht-corona-Zeiten noch mal wieder!

+ Unkomplizierter Check-In. Sehr großes Zimmer. Viele Lichtquellen und -schalter, hätte aber heller sein können. Genug Ablageflächen im Bad. Zimmer und Bad sauber. Bequemes Bett und gute Kissen / Bettdecken. Frühstück war in Ordnung, es gab vieles zur Auswahl und die Lebensmittel wirken auch frisch. Personal an der Rezeption sehr freundlich. - Das Hotel ist insgesamt recht weit außerhalb und auch der (immerhin kostenlose) Parkplatz ist nicht direkt neben dem Hotel, man muss wenige Minuten laufen. Etwas merkwürdig, dass das Klo separat ist, aber kein eigenes Waschbecken hat. Man hatte für das Frühstück nur einen Zeitraum von 45 Minuten zum Frühstück (aufgrund von Corona) und wurde kurz vor Überschreitung auch darauf hingewiesen. Sauna-Aufpreis war mit ca. 8€ pro Person für eine Stunde recht happig, leider wurde auch vergessen, uns die Bademäntel zu bringen, deswegen hatten wir 15 Minuten weniger Zeit, haben auf Nachfrage aber einen Eintritt umsonst bekommen. Hoteldesign schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

The hotel pictures in de adds are beautiful, in real live it is less of a beautiful building in its surrounding (especially in fall on a rainy day) but that is not really what matters. The check in at the reception was surprisingly short and we were good to go to our room that looked perfectly clean. The room was far from warm and the heater could not fix this. The fish heads on the wallpaper were far from appealing to us. The functional light on the ceiling and next to the bed have no dimming function - hence the word functional! So sitting in the bright and cold lighted room and have a drink an a chat is not attractive. But beside the lights, the two chairs (iron and plastic wire) are far from comfortable (hard/no pillows). So the interior itself with the colors and furniture laks warmth. The floor is made from laminated PVC I guess which makes it even colder (but clean). So what you do, you go out and will definitely find your comfort in the restaurant/bistro. The restaurant is a lovely place to be and have a nice dinner. We were served very well by friendly staff. I must admit that the hotel staff - they are the same - were very friendly as well. It is exactly like what others write about. Good wine and good food, lots of people form around having a drink (bistro function) or share a meal (restaurant function) in this nice warm ambiance. When it was time for bed we went back to our fish-room. The beds are two separate beds with plastic wheels which easily drift the beds apart. So each should stay on his side or you both stay on one if you want to be close for a while. The bed itself was good, nice cover/sheets. Pillow was to thin but I think there was a spare one. The shower was great! Spacious and bright. The sink smelled. This is because unfortunately the extra (over load) chamber in the sinks tends to fill with soap bubbles when washing your hands. And this is a perfect spot for fungus to grow. Hard to clean as well, so we do understand this is forgotten. Just have a sip from the running tap and you will know ;-) It all/ the room looks like it is new, just redecorated. To our opinion it could have some finishing touches to make it more perfect. Make it more warm would be our advise. Breakfast in the morning was great! No complains at all. This is organized in a warm looking room. Great coffee! We would definitely recommend this clean hotel if you need to visit this area/city. The people who work here do an honest job with a personal touch. We like that! I think they like it there as well.
