This is a review of the restaurant only. In 1980 with my parents, we stayed at a Logis de France at Haybes. I recall the main hotel was on a street a short way from the river Meuse, although we stayed in an annex a short walk away, with views over the Meuse. I am not sure this is the same place but as we were staying in a gite not too far away we decided to try it out for lunch. I am not sure if the Hotel has it's own parking but we found a place right outside so this was not an issue. On entering we were welcomed and shown to a table near the window. The menus and wine menu were brought and aperitifs ordered. I ordered a beer which came from a town in the Ardennes Dept, which we had driven through the previous day. The menu was not large but gave a perfectly reasonable choice. My wife had the pate while I had the assiette due charcuterie. Lovely food, well presented. The we both had the entrecote de boeuf, medium (a point). It was cooked to the perfect a point. A bottle of red wine was ordered although I just cannot remember what it was. Nice service and an understanding our French might not be that great. As my wife was driving we (I) saved some of the wine for her and the waitress kindly supplied a small cork top to ensure we got it all back to the gite. Good, unpretentious, but nice French restaurant. Would happily go back there if I am ever near by.
