Just an overnight stay but such a friendly welcome! Despite the freezing temperatures outside, our room was warm and cosy. Wonderful breakfast cooked to order - will definitely return.

We stayed at the Inn for 3 nights, ate in the pub on 2 evenings. Manager and staff were really friendly and helpful, pub style food was very good, good selection of beers and good wine. The pub has very easy access to the coast and local towns. We enjoyed our stay and are intending to go back.

The old inn is a great local village pub. We were made very welcome and it has a fantastic atmosphere. Great to see a good old fashioned country pub with locals laughing and joking with each other. The food was amazing. The service was great. Highly recommended if you’re in the area Will definitely return

Went for Sunday lunch ,meals were child sized ,very disappointing won’t be going back .Had to go out later for another meal. The roast dinner was small and would not fill a grown man, I would expect more vegetables choice. Maybe parsnips .cauliflower cheese, we had 4 small roast potatoes 2x slice of pork .drop of gravy and a spoon full of veggies that were frozen from a bag. Meat was not of a joint but from a packet Iam sure

Mens urinals are leaking and stained, bin in mens toilet never seems to be emptied and overflowing with hand towels which are also on the floor. Not very satisfactory. Staff also stroke people's dogs then don't wash their hands before serving drinks or food, quite off putting.

I had the pleasure of taking my father to the Old Inn this evening. The greeting was warm and friendly, the menu was varied to suit all palates, the food arrived promptly and was plentiful and tasty. Very reasonably priced, and a wonderful evening. Thoroughly recommended

Brilliant place to stay: absolutely a treat. Hawkchurch is a charming village. The Old Inn is a wonderful find. Great accommodation, such a comfortable bed, good pub food and excellent breakfast. All of this and a super friendly and efficient host(ess). Highly recommended

Our family waited well over an hour for food to be served. For a Friday evening end of May, it seems that the pub cannot cope with more than four tables. The meals came out in drips and drabs. Not only having a long wait! food was served on cold plates, frozen peas barely cooked, lukewarm food. A very poor meal indeed. Such a shame for a village pub.

We had an overnight stay in this wonderful place recently. The Lady that runs it was fantastic and had everything ready for our arrival. We decided to eat there that evening and I'm glad we did. Not only was the food excellent but we thoroughly enjoyed the company of the villagers. Breakfast was also lovely and using local produce. This is a real country inn serving its community in spades. The gorgeous church is just over the road and is well worth a visit as is the surrounding area. We'll be back.
