Budget on the Lake

Check in very good. Room was very comfortable and reasonable price. Nice quite area. Close to Lake and short distance to street and hospital. Staff very helpful. Additional requests were accommodated with a prompt and friendly smile. Bed very comfortable.

Due to an unfortunate circumstance, my cat and I were in urgent need of overnight accommodation. Budget on the Lake accepted a late booking, graciously agreed to house cat and human, and could not have been kinder or more helpful. Sure the rooms are small, but they’re well-designed, comfortable and clean. The chocolate and white tones are soothing, the shower is hot and the bed extremely comfortable. More comfortable than many a more expensive hotel I’ve stayed in. Budget on the Lake has the basics down pat, with an extra dollop of that country kindness which makes all the difference. Thanks Tan, your kindness was bery much appreciated.

When I reviewed after my previous stay, I forgot to add something that many travellers want - the excellent bedside reading lights. Thanks to Tam the always-cheerful proprietor & Natalie the helpful Housekeeper, another totally positive experience.

I booked here because their website and listings onTripAdvisor and *********** all said they offered room service and breakfast in the room. I was very disappointed to be told when I asked for the menu that they no longer do this. I was told this is because of covid. Which is understandable but geez, covid has been around for 2 years now, update your website and all the hotel booking sites! I would not have made the booking had I known this. Other services their website says they provide that they don't are: DVD player, in room movies, clock radio, mini bar. The wifi password in the information booklet in the room was incorrect. Milk is not supplied in the rooms. You have to ask for it, so bear this in mind late at night. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner, as they only supply a combined shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Bed was comfortable but pillows were thin so I would suggest taking your own. Location is quiet. The walls of the motel are very thin, so you can hear any noise that goes on in adjacent rooms. The rooms were extremely clean, a good size with a couch and were nicely decorated. If you are looking for a basic place to stay that is clean and roomy with no other services you won't be disappointed. However if you're looking for additional advertised services you will be let down.

A little way out of the main city centre but in a lovely spot close to the lake. We received a warm welcome and check in was easy. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, table, chairs and a sofa. Well appointed with a microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery. WiFi was fast, water was hot and parking directly outside the unit. The area is quiet too. For breakfast we had poached eggs on toast delivered to our room. They were cooked perfectly and came on warmed plates. Reasonably priced property and we would certainly stay again.
