Clean, modern facilities, with HOT, long lasting water in the large, private showers! Nice staff who got me a scooter, gave great advice, and arranged buses and tours. Best location and beautiful swimming pool in the cafe area. All for the best price in the area.

Wir kamen am Abend von Tam Coc an. Eine gute Sache an den regulären Bussen in Cat Ba ist, dass fast alle Sie an der Tür Ihres Hotels absetzen und wieder abholen (sofern es zentral liegt). Das Hotel ist wie der Großteil der Stadt: Es hat die Breite eines Zimmers und glänzt nicht mit jeglichem Luxus. Unser „Palace“ hatte nur das Etikett, obwohl es ältere gab. Zuerst roch es im Aufzug unglaublich feucht und das Zimmer, das man uns gab (3 Betten, kein Balkon, Rochengeruch...) entsprach nicht der theoretisch reservierten luxuriösen „Brautsuite“. Sie verlegten uns zur Hauptfassade, und obwohl sie die gleiche war wie auf den Fotos, konnte es Gott sei Dank nicht der Schauplatz einer Flitterwochen gewesen sein ... denn sie war ziemlich abgenutzt und überhaupt nicht attraktiv (at zumindest roch es nicht muffig). Es war nicht klein, aber auch nicht groß. Es hatte einen Balkon mit Blick auf die Straße (mit einem so niedrigen Geländer, dass es die Leute dazu einlud, nicht hinauszugehen, was für das theoretische Brautpaar Selbstmord bedeuten würde) und eine mehr oder weniger gute Aussicht, da es sich um ein hohes Stockwerk handelte. Großes Bett mit harter Matratze und akzeptabler Bettwäsche. Abgenutzte Möbel, u.a. und Sat-TV. Minibar mit kostenlosem Wasser. Kleines, altes Badezimmer mit einem merkwürdigen Waschbecken, dessen Arbeitsplatte gerade so weit geschnitten war, dass man (seitlich) auf der Toilette sitzen konnte, ohne größere Schäden davonzutragen. Dusche ebenfalls alt mit Fenster zur Gasse, schwach im Druck und mit Handtüchern zum Wechseln. Wir konnten an beiden Tagen nicht frühstücken, weil das Zimmer winzig und unattraktiv war und das Buffet spärlich und schlecht präsentiert war (wir kauften ein paar Shakes und ein paar Kekse). WLAN gut. Wir verstehen, dass es sich um einen äußerst touristischen Ort mit großer Nachfrage handelt, was sich auch in der schlechten Qualität der Hotels zeigt. Trotz der positiven Kommentare (?) würden wir uns sicherlich ein anderes Hotel suchen.

Hard to beat the location and general clean and tidy hotel. Read previous years and don’t recognise the one or five blob reviews! Not sure we had the room we paid for (Queen rather than King bed) but generally ok if a little small. Lovely pool on the top floor, with great views. Pool bar unattended in the three days we were there. Pricey by Vietnamese standards. Issue 1: breakfast room gets very crowded and noisy with children. No real non-Vietnamese options. Issue 2: no pool towels so many, and especially children, drip around the lifts. Lift floors often very wet and slippery. The hotel often hold the lifts and sweep out pools of water at the ground floor. Far better to provide towels and better management!

Great location. Very friendly staff who gave us lots of information on tours, restaurants etc. They arranged a tour for us and bike rental. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was spacious with a good shower. A good price for a comfortable nights stay.

This hotel is ideally situated for exploring cat ba, the staff were really friendly and helpful, there was plenty of choice for breakfast , the room was lovely and big clean and tidy , the hotel was relatively quiet and just a short 10 min walk from the beach, bars and restaurants
