Vesterålen Kysthotell

Great hotel, very nice houses near the water and very good boats for fishing. The food in Isqueen is great, also the breakfast is fresh and good. We also have seen the Northern Lights Aurora Borealis. We have booked the fishing trip over Cordes Travel.

I stayed here to get to another place for my business meeting as it was close to the airport. I arrived late at night and couldn't phone a taxi from the airport to the hotel so I called the hotel and they kindly ordered one for me. They had described how I would get into the hotel and my room and when I arrived they were there to greet me and let me in themselves anyway despite the fact that is was the middle of the night. The room was fine and all I needed with a kettle for tea. The view was stunning. But the best experience was when I had to leave. They had prepared the most thoughtful breakfast for me to take with and they called me another taxi, too. The staff really makes this hotel! they were so friendly, thoughtful and kind. I would go back.

Following a recent restructure and evaluation of its abundant assets in accommodations, this hotel has become more than a place to sleep and eat - it’s a cozy oasis from the harsh and fierce elements so common to us in Northern Norway. During a business trip working outside in extreme weather conditions for a couple of days, it was a joy entering this hotel and be greeted with capable, enthusiastic and helpful staff. No request on our behalf were too complex or difficult to fulfill. It seems that everyone works together organically, are empowered to do as they see best, yet managed in a way where we the customers do not notice anything. One would be forgiven to mistake this to be an effectively run family hotel - and I mean this in the most complimentary manner possible. Food is abundant virtually all day long (at least when we where there), breakfast simple but more than decent enough, super tidy, clean everywhere, and the hotel room spacious (though not luxurious, very comfortable but old fashioned - a welcome change to the plentiful modern hotels) with everything working as it should. I believe they also have apartments closer to the coast, as well as a camping area. In a nutshell, if they continue like this they might just epiphanise what accommodation in Northern Norway should all be about - majestic nature seen through large windows with cheery guests all around, because they feel at home.

Avis très mitigé, à la normande, car tout envers à son décor. Pour comprendre, commençons par les points positifs : - accès facile à l’hôtel et rapidité d’accès à Stokmarknes - joli hôtel aux couleurs rouge et blanc avec architecture typique - parking gratuit - chambre très spacieuse avec coin salon - literie correcte - hôtel à taille humaine - présence d’un spa, mais nous n’avons pas eu le temps d’en profiter - salle de bain avec douche et baignoire - petit-déjeuner avec vue sur l’arrière de l’établissement au calme. Puis les points négatifs : - proximité de la route : chambre bruyante - hôtel qui a dû être au top mais qui a mal vieilli au niveau des équipements intérieurs et notamment de la salle de bain - dans les chambres mansardées ne vous réveillez pas en catastrophe - pas d’ascenseur pour monter vos grosses valises à l’étage - du dentifrice retrouvé dans le lavabo - pas de chauffage fonctionnel dans la salle de bain - choix plutôt réduit au niveau des aliments pour le petit-déjeuner : après le 15/08 quand vous passez après un groupe, pas de réapprovisionnement de yaourt par exemple. Maintenant à vous de faire votre choix, mais il est vrai que dans le proche secteur c’est le seul hôtel.

Accommodatie is goed, voldoende voor 4 personen om enkele dagen te verblijven. huiskamer is niet groot maar bij mooi weer kun je op het balkon zitten met mooi uitzicht op o.a. het hurtigrutenmuseum. Klein minpuntje; bij het ontbijt was er alleen gewoon brood om zelf te snijden, niets geen broodjes of croissantjes. Of ze zijn er niet of erg snel op en worden niet meer aangevuld
