My stay at this hotel was terrible. I arrived around 12:30 AM and specifically requested a good room at check-in. We were given a room on the third floor, which was old but decent. However, when I used the kettle to boil water, the handle became extremely hot, burning my hand. I immediately informed the reception, and they assured me they would replace it in the morning.
At around 4:20 AM, we were startled by a loud noise. Upon checking, we discovered an electrical short, and the TV was malfunctioning. We couldn't sleep the entire night. After visiting the temple, I returned at 6 AM and again asked about the kettle, but the staff kept giving the same excuse. Only after multiple requests did they finally replace it.
When we tried to sleep again, we kept hearing the same disturbing sound. This time, we realized there was an issue with the electrical wiring. We informed the reception, and they escalated the matter to the banquet manager, who eventually changed our room. The new room was better, but the overall experience had already been ruined.
For the second day, when we requested drinking water, the room service staff informed us that they only accepted cash and did not offer a credit option. Even though we told them we were continuing our stay, they charged ₹20 for the water.
The breakfast experience was equally disappointing. On Friday, there was no buffet, and we had to order from a limited list provided by a staff member. We ordered masala dosa, idli, and ghee roast, but the food was absolutely terrible—cold, tasteless, and unappetizing. The next day, Saturday, we finally got a buffet breakfast, which was just okay.
For two nights, the experience was awful. I have never had such a bad stay in Guruvayoor. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
