I stayed with my family and chose this hotel specifically because it was close to “the big rock.” Hotel was fine and offered a clean and comfortable room and a quality free breakfast. If offered, try the arepa de choclo with breakfast. They were good and a nice break from the traditional arepas. Also, you can literally walk to the rock because of its close proximity to the hotel. However, depending on your fitness level and endurance, it may be best to hire a chiva to get you there. We did and arrived early with fresh legs to comfortably enjoy the climb and the amazing views. We walked back to the hotel and relaxed at the pool before checking out and heading to Guatapé for a couple days. Why only 4 stars? After 4 days in Medellin we were ready for a little unwind and peace. Unfortunately, the people/family in the room next to us decided to party late into the early morning hours and the walls were thin enough to allow us to share in their festivities. Not the hotels fault but, definitely an annoyance.

The hotel is nicely situated overlooking the lake and in between El Peñol rock and the town. Easy access everywhere by tuktuk. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly - many speak some English. We even received assistance on hiring the pontoon boat for a lake cruise and also our airport transfer. The pool is very clean and refreshing and with a children's pool as well as a large jacuzzi. This is a moderate hotel when compared to N American standards and at great rates. Rooms are a little smaller, but clean and with a balcony and small fridge. The included breakfast was perfect - hot dishes and fresh fruit are served. The rooms overlooking the dam (north) were quieter than those overlooking the parking lot. Need to stay at least 2-nights. We would gladly stay here again!

Overpriced cold, mediocre food. We had a party of eight and all of us had the same thought. Service was more ocupied with themselves than staying on top of Service.

The hotel was nice and in a great location. It is near to town and also El Penol. Service was excellent. The breakfast buffet had good food.

No pudimos haber elegido una mejor ubicación para participar en primer Oceanman de Guatapé. No tuvimos que preocuparnos por parqueo, ni por el traslado al parque CONFAMA, pues queda a escasos 50 metros. El desayuno está incluido y el día de la competencia lo Sirvieron antes como una consideración a los participantes. Un muy buen equilibrio entre calidad y precio
