Alte Bungalows, jahrhundertealte Gebäude und man hört morgens noch das Zwitschern der Kinder in der Gasse. Es fühlt sich an, als wäre man in die Kindheit zurückgekehrt, was sehr gut ist.

If you’re looking to immerse yourself in the charm of Guangzhou’s original old town, this hotel is a fantastic choice. Nestled among winding alleys and within walking distance of historic temples, the location is perfect for those who love exploring on foot.
The hotel itself has a trendy, creative vibe—especially the ground-floor coffee shop, which is a magnet for content creators and social media enthusiasts. During check-in, we were warmly welcomed by a gentleman who went above and beyond, sharing a curated list of local food and drink spots via WeChat. We followed one of his recommendations and ended up enjoying some incredible pan-fried dumplings—truly a highlight of our trip.
Our room was bright and comfortable, with a super cozy bed and refreshingly cold air conditioning. While the space showed some signs of wear—like chipped corners and scuffed walls—a fresh coat of paint would easily elevate the experience. The stairs were manageable, and breakfast, though simple, was thoughtfully prepared and satisfying.
All in all, we highly recommend this hotel for travelers who appreciate staying in a vibrant, authentic neighborhood with a touch of creative flair.

Very good experience. The building and interior is well renovated and decorated.
Great communication from the staff and friendly help provided.
The only ‘negative’ is there is no lift in this building. But they will offer to bring your luggage up for you.
The location is great if you are into local community culture as its located in a neighbourhood area.

Thera wasn’t just chic and beautiful. It was also the most comfortable of several places that I stayed in when I visited Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Downstairs there’s a coffee/tea shop that’s open during the day, run by the same courteous folks who operate the hotel. The side street it’s on has a full assortment of food spots. My favorite was the old-school eats at the street entrance, and there’s not just one but TWO dessert cafes! The Guangzhou 1 and 2 lines are nearby so you can’t really go wrong here. Besides all the alleys, the nearby Liurong temple is worth exploring.

Created with care by Thera's design team, the unique historical charm of the red brick exterior combined with an exclusive design concept, meticulous geometric shapes and deliberate landscaping creates a seamless fusion of old and new, inside and out.

The interior is divided into public spaces, rooftop terraces and themed rooms. Immersive real-life visual effects cover a variety of styles including French romance, Italian modern, extreme minimalist future, exotic Egyptian, Chinese Zen, gorgeous bathtubs and more, allowing you to have a cozy and relaxing holiday without leaving the building.
