Excellent accommodation and food. Lots of room in the accommodation for a family. We enjoyed the breakfast delivered to your room with plenty of choice. Owner is very friendly and helpful and if he can spare 10 minutes to show you the cat sanctuary please visit. Highly recommended and we will be back.

What a gem! Great location for Filey, Bempton, Whitby & Robin Hood's Bay and more with an allocated parking space making coming & going stress free. Walked to/from Filey one day. Served breakfast was fabulous - loved how it came covered and we could then do the ‘Eh voila! moment. Red Suite (the one we stayed in) very spacious with wonderful shower. Cool to have the private outdoor area too! Swallows and goldfinches all around plus the horses and ponies they have made for a very calming environment. Lovely hosts, thank you for a lovely stay.

After a pretty torrid personal time with a lot going on we just wanted an escape from the norm where we could just take things easy and really relax. Living in Sheffield we often visit Filey which in itself we find it relaxing, reasonably quiet and within a short distance to Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington, Malton and York. We were attracted to the Darling Suites by the quality and consistency of reviews which even for a 5* establishment are excellent. The quality of the accommadation is excellent even allowing for the fact that the place is fairly small but this is made up by the quality, design and layout of the property. We stayed in the BLUE ROOMS which has 1 bedroom with an extremely comfortable mattress and superb pillows. There is also a wardrobe, 2 bedside cabinets, a dressing table unit with a large mirror and a stool. If that isnt enough there is also a modern easy chair. The lounge is equally well laid out and comes with a very comfy sofa, side tables, various rugs and a table and 4 chairs with plenty of space to move around comfortably. The bathroom has a luxurious bath with overhead shower all of excellent quality. For breakfast there is an excellent choice of hot and cold foods which you choose the previous night on a preorder form. We dont usually like this idea but here the excellent choice and quality of the food is excellent. The bacon isnt salty but is thick sliced and very tastly. The eggs are very fresh and have beautiful golden yolks. Please try the cold breakfast as well which has excellent fresh fruit bowls, beautiful cold meats and cheese all with fresh bread. Breakfast is prepared, cooked and presented beautifully by the owner and came bang on the time we had requested. EXCELLENT SERVICE. I am sure I have missed something but suffice to say it would have been excellent anyway. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we cant wait to return. I remember what we missed now. Loads of the other reviewers had waxed lyrical about the scones, cake etc left for your arrival. Unfortunately we cant say the same as we didnt get this afternoon treat which we were so looking forward too. Oh well no one is perfect
