Hotel Nordend

We stayed at the Hotel Nordend in March 23 for a Skiing trip. It is brilliantly located less than 5 minutes walk for the 2 lifts that take you to the Champuluc & Gressoney areas of the ski region. It is spotlessly clean with a room clean / beds made every day. Beds very comfortable and even though the rooms are Compact they have everything you need including tea and coffee facilities. The staff are Friendly and helpful at all times and the hotel is run by a couple who are bringing up their young children there which gives it a Lovely relaxed feeling. We chose the half board option and the food was fantastic. Breakfast had everything you could want; cereals and fruit & yoghurt, cooked breakfast, meats and cheeses, toast, pastries, pancakes, and cakes. The evening meal was Cooked by the restaurant underneath the hotel which was high quality and great value for a 4-course meal. Even though there were only a few choices for each course we always found something we enjoyed and it was great to know we were going to be looked after at the end of a busy day. The restaurant has a very knowledgeable sommelier who guided us to some excellent local wines. The hotel has a nice spa area with sauna and steam room. I can’t recommend this enough- we will definitely stay here again if we come back to Staffal. The ski region has enough skiing to keep you interested for 5 days. It doesn’t have much for beginners but for Good skiers it is good and is renowned for its off piste opportunities.

Excellent small hotel representing very good value. Very clean rooms with lovely bedding and towels, our room was small, but perfectly comfortable and they even supplied a kettle and teabags! Marco and his wife who run the hotel, were very friendly and helpful, with booking restaurants etc. Breakfast was good, with a comprehensive selection of things to choose from, including lots of fresh cakes and local treats. Very convenient location, 3 mins walk to the ski lifts to take you up to the pistes, all very easy. Gressoney is a small quiet spot, but we ate somewhere different every night on a 5 night stay, and there is thumping apres ski bar right beside the hotel for a dance and a sundowner.

A fabulous place to stay, perfect for a skiing holiday. Super friendly family run hotel. Giovanna and Marco couldn't have done more to help make our stay more enjoyable. Our first trip to the Aosta Valley and definitely not our last. Thank you Giovanna, Marco and Riccardo for your very warm welcome. Ritorneremo!

Great location, very clean and well maintained. The problem is the surprisingly poor customer service. They made us all feel like we were doing them a favor by being there. Never a smile or welcome or any offer to help with anything. PS Do not rely on the free parking because there are only a handful of spots.

Hotel vicinissimo agli impianti…molto pulito e tranquillo. Personale gentilissimo e colazioni super. Parcheggio privato. Da migliorare terzo letto in camera scomodissimo e Wi-Fi assente…peccato Consigliato se si cerca tranquillità

Soggiornato in mezza pensione, colazione varia con ottime torte, cena al ristorante Fzry collegato all'hotel di buon livello e buona anche al carta dei vini (soprattutto valdostani), Struttura pulita e accogliente, personale disponibile e gentile. Complessivamente molto buono, da ritornarci!

Spiace perché l'albergo è in ottime condizioni e le camere sono confortevoli, però la mia esperienza con la mia famiglia è in definitiva deludente. Il ristorante serve piatti di scarsa qualità presentati in modo sciatto (niente da ridire sul gentile personale in sala). La SPA non era compresa nel prezzo, per carità era specificato, ma per il prezzo pagato mi è sembrata una mancanza. Il pomeriggio dalle 16 alle 19.30 un bar confinante con la struttura mette musica ad alto volume impedendo quindi di poter stare in camera a riposare e nonostante le nostre lamentele non c'è stato nulla da fare, tanto che abbiamo dovuto trovare sempre qualcosa da fare pur di non stare in camera! In 30 anni che vado in montagna sono stato in ogni tipo di struttura, anche a conduzione familiare e senza pretese, ma mai come in questa occasione ho avuto l'impressione di un rapporto qualità/prezzo così negativo.
