I had a lovely stay at this hotel. I hesitated between 4 and 5 stars, bust rest assured that if I had occasion to be back in Grenoble I’d happily stay here again. The good: The staff was absolutely lovely! Very nice, friendly, and helpful. I also liked the size of my room. I booked the largest room and was blown away by the amount of space! I especially loved the large walkout balcony and amazing views if the neighboring Parc Mistrel and surrounding mountains. The bed was reasonably comfortable, and I especially appreciated the large bathroom that was stocked with Clarins products. The living/dining area was great for entertaining and I loved relaxing in the loungers watching the TV at night before bed. I also appreciated all of the 1968 Olympic decor. Location was also nice as we were no more than a lovely 15 minute walk from the gare, tourist sites, and there was a grocery store right around the corner. The not so good: The hotel is showing its age and is in need of a remodel. It’s been a while since I’ve stayed in a hotel where an actual key is required to open the door. The biggest issue I faced was the WiFi. On the day I arrived, the WiFi would only reliably connect from the living/dining room; if I were in the bedroom area it would connect. By around the last two days, the WiFi was completely broken and wouldn’t reliably connect anywhere in the room. This was not a huge problem as I did not NEED WiFi but the last night we were there we couldn’t even connect the TV to the WiFi (so no Netflix, YouTube, etc.). I did not partake in any of the food options offered by the hotel even though breakfast was included in my rate.

Nach einer Autopanne auf unserer Rückreise von Südfrankreich sind wir in Grenoble gestrandet. Das Hotel Maison Barbillon wurde für unseren „Zwangsaufenthalt“ in Grenoble durch einen Mitarbeiter unserer Versicherung gebucht. Es liegt zentral und nur unweit des Bahnhofs. Das Hotel war sehr gut frequentiert. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Das Personal an der Rezeption war überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lobby mit Frühstücksraum ist ansprechend und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Frühstücksbüffet war ausreichend und gut. Zu jederzeit stand kostenfrei Kaffee, Tee und Wasser zur Verfügung. Das Zimmer, welches wir hatten, war nicht sehr groß, aber völlig ausreichend und sauber; Bad groß. Wir können das Hotel sehr empfehlen.

Die Freunde, zu denen wir vom Flughafen gingen, waren sehr praktisch. Es wäre toll, wenn wir direkt ein Taxi nehmen würden. Dann war der Empfangsservice sehr freundlich. Wir waren in so vielen Hotels und hatten das Gefühl, dass die Preisleistung des Hotels sehr hoch war. Empfohlen

Als ich für die Ausbildung reiste, habe ich das Hotel, geräumige und komfortable Wohnung, sehr ruhig gepflegt. Außer der Tür des Zimmers, die sich nicht geschlossen hat.

Direkt neben der Universität ist die Straßenbahn ausgefallen, der Transport ist sehr bequem, es gibt einen großen Supermarkt (Géant Casino) und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind ebenfalls bequem. Es gibt KFC und McDonald's rund 900 Meter und es gibt Restaurants in der Nähe. Es gibt keine Klimaanlage, es ist in der Tat Frankreich

I picked the hotel for the secure car parking and nearby tram stop, as I had beeen told Grenoble centre parking was a nightmare. The hotel was a very pleasant suprise, helpful friendly staff, comfortable room, decent breakfast and 10 min tram ride to city centre. Grenoble is a great location for touring the mountains in the area. Very good value, I would happily stay again.
