Do not book!!!! We are having a wedding in the area and booked months ago along with bookings for part of the wedding party. Out of the blue we received confirmation that they were cancelling our reservation, that was made last year. When they emailed they said that had to prioritise a wedding party for a local family. It’s shocking that we could book so far in advance for them to cancel so close to the date when everything else is already booked up I would encourage no one who wants a guaranteed bed to book with them. Go elsewhere they won’t even honour a booking made for a bride and groom!!

A very friendly privately run hotel. I've stayed here on several occasions over the past few years and the service has always been excellent. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The older building is listed and has somewhat crroked floors in a number of rooms. It's a nice quiet spot if, like me, you value a good nights sleep. The hotel doesn't do evening meals but there are two good pub / restaurants within a few minutes walk. If you want something other than bland chain hotels then this hotel is for you. Will return nextg time I'm in the area.

We stayed here on Friday the 15 December 2023. I can’t ask for a better friendly and most helpful hotel. I will returning very soon. The breakfast was lovely and the staff was also. Such a beautiful place to stay.

As a family of 6 we had 2 family rooms, for an overnight stay on the way to Stansted airport (approx 30min drive). Rooms were in the older building so rooms were spacious. Hotel is set in beautiful Essex countryside. Clean room and lovely bathrooms. We were able to check in promptly on arrival and plenty of room to park. Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast, thanks to Jane. Will do a return visit.

This was a return trip, we came last year to do the Garden show at. Audley end house We relaxed as soon as we arrived , The staff are excellent as before , coming back to a hotel sometimes you are disappointed but they were even better than last year, which I didn’t expect if I could give them more than 5 I would A very well oiled machine works very well, the room was great , the breakfast was fantastic .we would recommend , this hotel to everyone . We can’t wait for our next visit.

We held our wedding weekend at the Crown House Hotel, and we couldnt have been happier with our choice. It is a beautiful, charming hotel with a very comfortable and relaxed feel. The grounds are so pretty and well kept. Chris and all of the team and amazing, so helpful and friendly. The food was just delicious and very plentiful. We are planning to return for our first anniversary.

We went to the hotel for our Daughters Wedding, cant fault it at all, we were all made so welcome, the food was excellent, rooms very clean and comfy, gardens were beautiful, Big thank you to Kris and staff, for excellent service.

Great hotel, clean rooms, grounds are spectacular. Attended wedding, staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really good, big choice and well cooked. If I have to find fault poached eggs were hard (lol).
