Quality Inn Grand Rapids Near Downtown Bewertungen

First impressions of pulling into the complex is the parking lot is deteriorated and next to a low income motel. Had to wait for a resident talking to the hotel manager about getting kicked out for nefarious reasons. The area around the entire building smelled like **** smoke. The building needs a past due renovation.

Adequate for an overnight stay when I was in town for a concert at the Van Andel Arena. No frills, cheap, no complaints.

Room was clean, staff was helpful. Snow clean up was non existent. My only complaint was that the walks were NOT shoveled and the parking lot was not cleared of snow.

Room definitely didn’t look like the pictures. We had a broken table someone tried to put back together that look horrible.. rooms were very outdated and the old maintenance work like patching on the walls wasn’t painted over. Looked horrible. But the bed was comfortable and was fine overall because we only needed a place to sleep. Looked like a lot of the people lived there.. also had a lot of snow and the sidewalks weren’t shoveled we had to walk through snow almost up to my knees to get in our door. Only to walk in and the heat was turned off which I thought was horrible at the time but like I said the bed was comfortable

It served the purpose of a cheap place to sleep and nothing fancy. The lower reviews were because the bathroom fan was rediculously loud, the bathroom door wouldn’t fit in the jam so it didn’t close. The smell in the room wasn’t bad, it was just odd. Like lemongrass or ginger or something. There was a mysterious stain on end of the bedspread that normally would have had me call the front desk and complain, but I was exhausted and didn’t have energy to deal with it so I checked the sheets and just slept on the other side. That being said, the bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. There was a protective cover on the mattress. Continental breakfast was basic but a nice gesture and served the purpose. It was quiet and we slept well.

Door to room was unlocked upon arrival. Door bar was unscrewed so anyone could walk in. Room weren’t clearly marked and I was told I had to walk to a different door in the rain when the stairs were right around the corner.

The pictures don’t actually show that this property looks like. It is incredibly outdated, paint chipping. We had so many bugs in our room because the door was not sealed.

The sink was not cleaned. The room smelt overwhelmingly with a perfume clean smell. The mattresses were not comfortable and moved easily. There were minor damages to items in the room.

The room smelled really bad. the carpet was wet and sticky. The bathroom door was broken. the people upstairs was very noisy. the breakfast very poor. the juice machine was not on, I had to ask the front desk lady to turn it on. way to expensive for the service they offer.

The staff is wonderful and pleasant. Alway a hello or good morning. As far as a city motel goes. I prefer to stay there when I travel for business in GR.

I can't overstate how horrible my experience was. After spending 5 hours on the road, I arrived at 9:15 PM to a hotel parking lot that was blocked off by police activity. After waiting ~45 minutes, the police activity had not cleared up. I called the front desk to inquire about alternate parking/entrances and was informed that there were none. I ended up having to book a room at a different hotel last minute and was unable to cancel or receive a refund at the Quality Inn. I cannot recommend staying here under any circumstances.

The breakfast was great; eggs and sausage patties every day, along with a waffle iron, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. The WiFi, on the other hand, was anemic. It would drop briefly (or longer) every time I changed websites.

Hostess was very pleasant and accommodating, switched our room without issue when the heating/cooling unit was not working at checkin, breakfast area was clean and well stocked, but the rest of the hotel was rundown,, Rooms smelled of bug spray and had a red roof Inn type of feel. Although location is great, it was not the type of Quality Inn we have come to expect. Not even for the 100.00 we paid, plus when we were moved to a different room, the bed was smaller..

During our stay there were cops being called twice. The rooms smell bad and the bathroom door was broken. Only positive was decent breakfast.
