Gouvia Hotel

Just returned from a lovely 10 night stay at Hotel Gouvia. The hotel is ideally located in central Gouvia and is an ideal base for a holiday in Corfu. The room we opted for was basic but suited our needs during our stay. The room was cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels each time. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis which was ideal for us. The breakfast is plentiful with a wide range of fresh fruits, cereal, yogurt, cakes & pastries and a great selection of hot foods such as eggs bacon tomatoes and savoury pastries to name a few. The staff are friendly and always on hand to offer advice about days out and places of interest. I swim daily when at home so for me the pool was a massive bonus as it is a decent size where you can actually swim and was not full of kids on inflatables like you get in other places. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we visited Corfu again. Thanks to everyone who made our holiday a pleasant one. Yammas!

We stayed about 4 nights at the hotel. The room was very very small especially the bathroom but there was a balcony. Unfortunately the hotel overlooks a very busy street especially at night so it is quite noisy. You also have to pay extra for the air conditioner! There also seemed to be a problem with the water as the pressure was very low at around 6pm every night and on one night there was no water at all. On the upside, the hotel has a pool, is very close to lots of restaurants, the beach and the bus stop.

My partner and I have just enjoyed a lovely week at the Gouvia Hotel. The staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and when we requested a move to a ground floor room, this was sorted by the lovely Martha on reception, with no fuss and no additional charge. The pool was lovely, clean and very quiet as it was early in the season. We had visited Gouvia before and still love the area, will come back to this hotel again. One very minor point, having read previous reviews we knew to bring our own travel kettle - I need my early morning coffee well before 8am when the restaurant opens for breakfast!!

Thank you for the warm hospitality . The accommodation was excellent with no problems . The staff members were warm and friendly. Had a wonderful stay. the rooms were clean and comfortable with everything you need and the food as well as the bar was amazing .

We are regular travellers. I rarely post negative comments but want to give the hotel some points to help them improve so that British tourists keep coming. First of all there is no lift so the spiral marble stairs could pose a problem for anyone with mobility issues. The rooms are very small with poor furniture which doesn't fit. The bedside cabinet faces the bed so the drawers don't open, the wardrobe doors don't open wide enough to enable the inners drawers to open. The balcony is tiny. Coffee making facilities would be a nice touch. The bathroom is tiny and very old fashioned. The pool area is adequate but the sunbeds and umbrellas are ancient. Unless the area is cleaned in the middle of the night I didn't notice it being done. Breakfast is very basic but adequate. The resort is ok. Litter pickers would be a good idea on beach. There are some lovely restaurants in resort. Overall there are better, cheaper places to go. I'd try Spain or the canaries. Don't get me started on the airport. Extremely disappointed. Some people missing flights due to the inadequate staffing and facilities. Turkey is good. Might go back there soon. I hope this doesn't cause offence but people's general expectations are higher than when Greece was rubbish but cheap. It's now expensive but standards haven't improved. Must try harder.

Purtroppo non approvo che venga data una camera in quelle condizioni:Piccola con 3letti che gia due non ti giri,il bagno piccolissimo,tenda doccia sporca rubinetti sfaldati nella cromatura,bordi lavabo siliconati in maniera pasticciona e ammuffiti,il water dove appoggia a terra uno schifo.La porta d'entrata con la serratura che si inceppa,il condizionatore sembra un trattore al minimo,e perde acqua di condensa,il balcone....innominabile,con le canne fumarie che rilasciano gli umori della cucina.Ho girato parecchio in questo mondo,mai mi è capitato di vivere una notte cosi pessima.Propongo di non consegnare più quella camera,la ritengo un'offesa al cliente!! Siamo stati soddisfatti per la ragazza della reception che ha provveduto a trovarci una camera dignitosa,cosi abbiamo potuto completare il nostro soggiorno serenamente,ringraziamo nuovamente!!!! Avevamo solo la colazione,abbiamo trovato sempre quello che ci piaceva.Personale gentile,efficiente pronto a dare un aiuto al cliente.
