Am Samstag Abend bei meinen beiden Kindern geblieben. Wir nahmen die Check-in in Details an und unsere erste Reaktion auf die Unterkunft war, dass es wunderbar war. Sehr geräumig, sauber usw. Das Badezimmer war ein wenig enttäuschend mit Farbe und einem Duschepanel, der von der Wand wegkommt. Die Küche war gut gespeichert mit allem, was Sie für einen längeren Aufenthalt kochen müssen (offensichtlich abzusehen von der Nahrung). Das Trommelbett war ein schöner Touch im Haupt 'lieb' Raum. Ich habe noch nie in Glastonbury geblieben und es war etwas von einer letzten Minute Buchung am Donnerstag vor, als ich einen Rabatt durch booking.com fand. Ich werde also zugeben, dass ich nicht gründlich die Bereiche untersucht habe, in denen die b&b liegt. (Also nehmen Sie hier eine Verantwortung). Als wir ankamen, bemerkte ich, dass es buchstäblich direkt neben den Versammlungsräumen war (ich hatte keine Ahnung, wofür dieses Gebäude verwendet wurde), es war außerhalb des B&B-Einganges heißen. Ich dachte nicht viel davon, weil es wie Familien aussah - wir gingen ins Haus und ich merkte, dass das Hauptschlaffenster direkt neben den Versammlungsräumen gelegen war, wieder, Ich dachte, es wäre nur während des Tages offen und die massive Menge des Lärms, das ins Zimmer kommt, wäre kein Problem. Bis ich ein Zeichen über eine Veranstaltung sah, die später stattfand, so habe ich schnell Google gemacht und bald erfuhr, dass eine Band oder zwei diese Abend in den Versammlungsräumen spielen sollen. Von 8:00 Uhr kamen Leute an. Laut, etwas lair und betrunken. Das Fenster im Hauptzimmer hat keinen anderen Zweck als Regen und Wind zu blockieren. Jedes einzelne, was draußen stattfindet, kann als ob Sie im Allee stehen. Der Lärm von betrunkenen Argumenten, Schreien, Hunden schreien usw. ging bis zumindest 1am fort. Ich mag hier falsch sein, aber ich fühle mich, als sollten die Eigentümer die Menschen entweder über ihre Website (oder Websites Dritter) und wenn potenzielle Gäste ein Zimmer buchen, dass die b&b neben einem Musikplatz liegt. Ich fühle mich auch, dass einige klangsichere und bessere Fenster nicht verpassen würden. Meine Kinder und ich schliefen kaum. Wir mussten uns dann in ein Pub ziehen, um Frühstück zu haben (Ich habe mich nicht überprüft, dass das so wäre, ich sah nur, dass Frühstück enthalten war und dachte ”groß”). Ich werde absolut nicht zurückkehren, was eine Schande ist, da die Unterkunft selbst schön ist, ich fühle mich nur, dass es mehr Transparenz und Kommunikation über die benachbarten Gebäude und für was sie verwendet werden, insbesondere für Familienbuchungen.

Great historic building the tor was great but the food at the pilgrims was shocking! We stayed 2 nights and they ran out of food both nights. The local curry restaurant was amazing but you can’t eat curry for breakfast lunch & dinner. The room we stayed in was called the nuns room and for some reason as the night progressed it became increasingly hot! The building is old so no air con but fans were provided. Friendly staff and very welcoming people all around Glastonbury. The locals are amazing definitely would recommend visiting but unfortunately I won’t be returning.

The Camelot Retreat is a wonderful welcoming space. It is extremely clean, and has a very spiritual yet homely atmosphere. The room I had was warm and inviting, with everything that someone could need. Breakfast was very convivial, and the facilities provided (with a kitchen and cereal bar where you can make breakfast to suit your dietary requirements and tastes) were excellent. This is a great place to meet and connect with like-minded souls if you want to. The location is ideally placed for excursions to the Tor, Chalice Well, and for strolls into town to take in the sights and shops.

OK, along with 90% of the hotel residents, I have been staying as part of Team HPC. I am eight or nine weeks in, they all blurr into one. With two-to-four weeks left. Six different rooms - so here is the low-down. The hotel and rooms are clean. Really clean. The person making up my room during my last visit even folded-up my clothes and hung them up. Unfortunately, there is the option of ”green” (no clean) and full clean. There is nothing inbetween. I would be happy to have the water, biscuits, coffee, milk etc replaced and not have new towels/ bed made - but there was not an option. All or nothing. Location: Some reviews say it is in the ”rough part of town”. Ha! That is Bridgwater. I can say that as I used to live in a one-up/ one-down on Old Taunton Road. It is not in the rough part of town, it is just in the town. Also nice to see that with £32bn being pumped into the local economy the local council have done nothing. Not even fixed the potholes. The location is great, close to town, close to the motorway exits, near restaurants (although Marco Pierre restautant in hotel is excellent). Room: Generally comfy but really bad pillows. The one where one is not enough, but two gives you neck ache. I bought my own from home and (without fail) everyone used to say that was such a good idea on check-in/ check-out. I did ask if there were any other pillow options (memory foam, feather etc) but was told ”no”. There is a fridge with complimentary carbonated and still water, but these are only replaced if you go for the full clean option (see above). Avoid (at all costs) certain 4th floor rooms (from memory it was 401-404). They are right under the gym on the 5th dloor and I was woken up with the gym-bunnies going for it really early in the morning, or struggled to get to sleep at night. The sound of the treadmill and weights being dropped were heard by the wife on the phone. Parking: Yes, you have to pay an additional £10 per day, but they tell you that in advance. You generally need to park next-door, but leaving a £50K Audi there was not problematic (apart from the sea-gulls which crap all over the car - not the hotel's fault). Gym: I went, but not at silly o'clock in the morning or late at night. It is small. To the point I couldn't use one machine for hitting the person on the next machine. It is below-par at best. Brekkie: Stand-out great. OK, I have eaten at some hotels where they had 4 different types of sausage available (six if you include vegetarian and vegan), but the brekkie here is great. Full fry-up (nice quality and tasty (eggs are a tad insepid). Continental, croissants, ham, cheeses, different breads, and all the healthy stuff as well (yoghurt, fruit, nuts etc). What is a really nice touch is that you can also make a take-away coffee if you need one. Staff: Honestly, they are what makes this hotel. All super-friendly and helpful. Eine kalte berechnende Hotelmanagerin . Wir haben uns beschwert und wurden rausgeschmissen. Die Zimmertüren sind fast alle kaputt. Hotelschlüssel passen in jedes Schloss, sodass Sie Abends einen Fremden im Zimmer haben. Bezahles Frühstück wird einfach storniert. Dafür bekommen sie Nüsse , Chips & Getränke. ein Disaster . Nachts wird man von Spinnen besucht, wir hatten 10 im Zimmer. Enspannter Urlaub sieht anders aus. Uns wurde versprochen, dass dieses Hotel den Transfer bezahlen würde. das wurde nicht gemacht! vorsichtig sein . Buchen Sie um Gottes willen ein anderes Hotel.
