Agriturismo Santa Margherita

Just returned from the most wonderful week at Agriturismo Santa Margherita which we whole heartedly recommend. First the points to bear in mind, it’s a good 2 hour drive from Catania airport, it’s high on the hill on country lanes and a car is needed to go to the beach, shops etc. Its an authentic agriturismo so farmhouse accommodation, location and farm animals as expected and as in the photos including gravel or earth paths around the farm, between buildings and the pool area. Our room was old style country farmhouse in the main building, a little dated but spotless, cleaned every other day with unbelievable views. Although directly above the restaurant and terrace we weren’t badly affected by the noise. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of pastries, cornetto’s, cereal, cheese ham and yogurt available. Evening meals are a set menu ie not a menu you can pick from but you can opt for all courses or just one or two etc. We found this a bit daunting at first but absolutely loved every meal. All of this provides the most authentic Sicilian holiday possible! Every single person there was friendly welcoming and so very helpful. The food was outstanding! No wonder so many Sicilian’s eat there too. The dining is all at the same time so although on separate tables everyone dines together which is a wonderful experience and felt like a family get together rather than a restaurant. Oh and the wine included with dinner was fabulous too! For anyone looking for a true slice of real country style Sicily and isn’t fazed by driving the Italian roads then I truly recommend visiting this area and most definitely to stay at Santa Margherita

Really enjoyed staying here. Good signposts to get there and the sat nav took us straight there. Good location. Excellent authentic food. Great views. Never went to the swimming pool. Staff speak Excellent English and are very helpful and friendly. Suggest you ask about air conditioning if it is important to you. Also where we stayed was some distance from the restaurant. Not a problem for us but would be if someone had mobility problems. Go on the boat trip to the islands. The staff at the Hotel can book the tickets for you. This is a very nice place to stay.

Just back from a week at Agriturismo Santa Margherita in Sicily. A special treat for my sister and I. We had a lovely time the food was amazing and lots of it. So many cakes to choose from at breakfasttime! Our room was basic but clean and room service every other day with clean towels. We had a bit of trouble with electrics you need a three prong plug? Had to ask for one off cleaners We could not plug anything in with our travel adapters? The place is high up on side of mountain can not walk to beach and need a car to go anywhere which we had thankfully. Views amazing. Lots of cats and dogs around very friendly so make sure you are happy with animals around you at mealtimes. Pool area a bit of a trek from our room as whole area is spread out. No where to get drinks or snacks at poolside when we where there. Lots of sunbeds. Pool a little tired and needs updating small child's pool looks a little shabby/dirty. Need shoes or flip flops around Pool area as rough stones on ground cannot walk around barefoot. Overall a good holiday, friendly staff.

Having recently returned from a 3 night get away at santa margherita we wanted to share our very enjoyable experience. The hotel is high up in the hills giving it stunning sea views, definitely transport needed to reach it but we enjoyed the fact it was not a touristy location and really felt we got to experinece some authentic sicilian culture as the hotel is traditional and rustic which is what we were looking for and although not a modern hotel we had everything we needed including air conditioning and a fridge in the room. The room we stayed in, the restaurant and pool were a distance from one another but the short walk across the grounds were lovely and scenic with lime trees and cacti. The nearest town was about 10mins taxi away and the main city of messina alot futher so you would need abit more time to use this as a base for exploring. Great place to relax, the food was consistently of high quality and plenty of it, the set menu comes with wine and the surpise of not knowing what was on the menu meant we got to try so many different things but mostly we want to thank the staff here they were so friendly and attentive even with our poor language skills and a special thank you to the manager Giuseppe who looked after us from the moment we arrived and to Claudia who was so lovely and welcoming you both really made our stay such a memorabale one.

Wow! Wow! We stayed here for 5 days and LOVED our stay. Every morning I woke up, and ate fresh fruit from the trees, then walked down to breakfast where I ate some of the best cakes. Breakfast had a great variety. Then, of course, there was dinner! The food was excellent, and I have never been so full traveling to Italy. Claudia was an incredible host, and the staff we interacted with were very friendly and attentive. Will be returning, and highly recommend staying!

We stayed in Unit #1 and found the views, staff, and local communities exceptional in every way. Claudia managed our booking from the beginning and was very accommodating to our needs and requests from pre-booking all the way through our stay that ended May 7, 2022. The views of the Aeolian Islands and the Mediterranean Sea were incredible. The value of what we paid was also exceptional and yet the service remained top notch the entire time. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to explore the rural beauty and family friendly environment of Sicily.

What a beautiful, comfortable, charming place! The grounds are accessible and offer a variety of farm animals, groves, unbelievable vistas and fresh water. The rooms are lovely with housekeeping impeccably cleaning every other day. The food is deliciously bountiful, taken from the farm itself. Morning breakfast is filled with beautiful cakes and breads along with meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, eggs, freshly squeezed juice...incredible! Dinner is a four course event every night complete with all the wine you can drink. The staff is fantastic with Claudia as the super hostess. We were in contact from the start of our family journey and Claudia guided us every step of the way. Not to mention, the views are to die for! All in all, my family of sixteen, had the time of our lives and will most definitely be returning. Thank you to all the Santa Margherita staff and owners...you are amazing.

The hotel is 15min drive from the town situated in the „hills“. Most peaceful place with an amazing view. Having been here in December not a lot of other guests around but the staff were amazing. Thanks a lot for giving me such a peaceful and enjoyable time!!! By the way the food was amazing!!! Thanks for having me!!!! Felt blessed…

Siamo appena tornati dopo aver trascorso le nostre vacanze estive presso l’agriturismo Santa Margherita . Il posto è incantevole immerso nella natura e con una vista mozzafiato . Gli alloggi hanno un patio e sono super attrezzati ( addirittura sono dotati tutti di stendini ed addirittura mollette per stendere asciugamani o altro 😀ed anche con delle sedie a sdraio super comode, oltre un tavolo e sedie ) . Gli alloggi sono super puliti e freschissimi .. per non parlare del panorama che si ha davanti agli occhi con la vista direttamente sulle isole Eolie. La colazione e la cena ottimi con cibo squisito ed abbondante.Accoglienza e gentilezza del personale super ! Ed infine come non menzionare Claudia che , con il suo sorriso e con la sua dolcezza ci ha fatto ancor di più innamorare di questo posto . Valentina (gruppo Moccia 😀).
