This hotel has so much potential because of its location but was a disappointment for multiple reasons. First, it is very understaffed with the person responsible for the reception also being in charge of bringing guests back and forth from the center of Geiranger. This means that one has to wait for him to pick up other guests before checking out. There is to be a better way. (Also, the walk to the center is on a narrow road so while it is a do-able walk, it is not an easy one.) Second, despite having an a la carte dinner menu on its website, it only offers a mediocre, extremely overpriced buffet for dinner. It cost $175 for 2 of us without alcohol! I know that Norway is expensive, but during our trip, we had much better meals for significantly less. Given that the property is not in the center of Geiranger we had no choice but to eat there, but had it been clear online that they only offered an overpriced buffet, we would have eaten in town. Finally, on the hotel's website, it says to get in touch with them to plan hikes and excursions in the area. Despite reaching out to them on numerous occasions prior to our stay, we were not even given the courtesy of a response. At the very least, they could have responded saying they no longer offered such assistance and referred us to the Ticket Office (Tourist Information Center) who were extremely helpful. In conclusion, I would not recommend this hotel.
