"I stayed at this hotel last night on a work trip. I didn’t expect much due to the price but I was pleasantly surprised with how helpful and welcoming all the staff were. The room and bathroom were both comfortable and immaculate. My room was the sea view which was stunning. I went down for my dinner and the service, presentation and taste was some of the best Turkish food I have ever had. I had to send a photo of the food to everyone. I really look forward to staying there again when I am next up there for work."

"Initial impressions weren’t great- dirty revolving door and reception tiles covered in leaves and debris. However, very warm welcome by staff made me feel hopeful. Took the unloved and unclean lift to the 5th floor where we entered our room. All good here! Very clean. Super-comfy bed. The curtains had a tear but served their purpose. Can’t comment on food but suited us for a night in order to visit the Uni Open Day in Newcastle. You get what you pay for which is a clean and comfortable room."

"The room was very clean, the amenities were very good, food was good with a good variety, and the price was very reasonable. my wife and I had to travel from london to Gateshead for a funeral, and we both have mobility health problems. From the start booking was made very easy with the help of receptionist Vicky because we needed an easy accessible room. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at ease. After unpacking we went to the restaurant/Bar for a well earned drink and dinner, the staff were way beond helpful and nothing was to much trouble. the following day we went to the funeral, and on our return found a box of Ferrero Rocher, and a voucher each for a free drink at the bar and a nice little note to help raise our spirits. In the restaurant Emma, Julie, and Faith with her infectious smile, were all so above and beound. The recption team Vicky and Craig were also so helpful it was a breath of fresh air, as well as James who is not just a maintence man, was so helpful with doors and our bags, without being asked. also every member of staff always had a couple of minutes to have a quick chat. We think all the staff had to three mantras, " do you need anything else " " can I help you with that " " and my favourite " nah bother " we could not have been more looked after if we were staying at a Hilton hotel. In all our stay could not have been any better. Mr and Mrs K griffin Room 2 13th to 15th April 2026"

"No hassle and well located (and priced). Good communication from Kim too. Noise from other guest could be an issue, especially on the ground floor but it wasn't really a problem for us fortunately. Bathroom door was a little difficult to shut but not a big issue. Handy to have a fridge in the room."

"Das war das zweite Mal, dass wir für eine Nacht geblieben haben, während wir Beamish besucht haben. Das erste Mal, dass wir in einem der Bungalows waren, aber dieses Mal waren wir im Hauptrestaurantgebäude. Aufgrund des Alters des Gebäudes war es sehr laut. Die Fenster sind einzeln verglast und wenn LKWs durch das Bett gefahren sind vibrationiert! Sie können Leute im Zimmer oben und neben uns hören. Menschen, die im Korridor laufen und mit normalem Volumen reden, war wie sie im Zimmer mit uns waren. Das Essen im Restaurant war durchschnittlich. Das Abendessen war überkocht und trocken. Das Frühstück war schön genug und reichhaltig. Die Temperatur im Zimmer war gut. Die Dusche war auch gut. Das Bett war komfortabel genug. Das Personal war nett und freundlich. Nichts zu schreiben zu Hause. Es war preiswert genug für das, was wir wollten. Wir bleiben hier aber nicht das nächste Mal, wenn wir nach Beamish gehen, wenn wir wieder in das laute Hauptgebäude gestellt werden."
