I stayed from 25.10.24 to 28.10.24 in this hotel. I walked-in but booked online as I was getting cheaper deal from their official website. I booked Deluxe Room which was very small. I was allotted Room No.32 on the 3rd floor, there is no lift in the hotel. The washroom was the tinest I have ever used. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were the fulfiest. Windows were dirty. I could not see the clear view of the mg road due to dirty windows although you can open the windows. The floor is wooden. The hotel itself is old with over used fixtures. The view from hotel window is of mg road and hotels and restraunts, there is no view of mountains from the hotel room from 3rd floor room. Parking is not available. Taxi can just drop and pick you. There is no room service but there is one guy named Diwakar Giri who may be of a help. He helped me in arranging taxi for local sight seeing and Nathu La. The best part of the stay was hot water availability in the morning and night, bed with fulffy pillows and location at mg road. If you want mountain views and no noise and no crowd, then see hotels in area above mg road in the upper region near judges bunglows or cm bunglow. My overall stay was okiesh. Average hotel. I got a deal of 3 nights in Rs.7,114/-.

Good Hotel with excellent Hospitality. Just on Mall Road, MG Marg. Windows facing MG Marg. Staffs are good, professional & problem solver. We enjoyed our stay at S. Oriental Gangtok. The only drawback is all the rooms are on 2nd floor and above, No lift, and very much difficult for old aged persons and / or have any knee problems. I have faced the same problem my room was on 3rd floor but on request, next day they provide me room on 2nd floor. Thanks for cooperation. Nice stay.

Great stay! Comfortable, clean and friendly staff. A big thank you to Front desk staffs Siddhant & Adarsh for their friendly and professional service, and to Reena at breakfast for always being available to assist us with a smile throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend!

Very helpfull and kind staff. Good service. Nice and clean accomodations. Highly recommendable hotel. The location of the hotel is great. Everything was upto the mark, only issue was with WiFi. Worth every penny! Keep up the good service.

Pros: - Excellent location. Bang on MG market . For a tourist, it was very easier and convenient, as it was very easier to get a cab for drop to other spots in Gangtok. Cons: - Poor hospitality. Staffs are not even trained about hospitality, especially the reception staffs. - By checking into hotel, we were informed that hotel uses centralized geyser and hot water is available only from 6AM-12PM and 6PM-12PM. We checked into hotel by 2PM( which is the usual check-in time) and it was very inconvenient. - Due to occasion of Christmas and New year, hotel was using decoration lights and its connection was taken from one of the lights in our room where we stayed. Because of this issue, one window remained permanently opened. For two days and nights, we had to suffer from severe cold as the window remained open. When we complained to staff on third day, they outrightly refused and informed that won't be able to remove , as this is a decoration light and window will remain open. We had to literally shout at them, then our request was addressed. - Hotel has no lift. Our room was at 5th floor and every time we had to go climb stairs . - Property is old and rooms are quite small.
