Last June (June 2024), for the third or fourth time, we; my wife and two daughters stayed again at the Covanro. This place is so attractive, in terms of the people, the service, the food and the location so every time we visit Sri Lanka, we keep going back to this fabulous hotel. The people are kind, considerate, respectful and courteous in every sense of the word which I observed a trait that is coming down from the top management. Combined with that is the quality of the service they offer which is higher than expected for a hotel operating in an environment such as in Sri Lanka. For those food lovers, whatever taste you are looking for; Sri Lankan style spicy food, Asian style or Western cuisine, the chefs at the Covanro’s kitchen are capable of addressing your taste buds and, in my experience, they always exceed one’s expectations. We were highly impressed of the high standard of accommodation the Covanro offers with a wide range of rooms to select from which are large and spacious and also, a few types of luxury suites. During our stay we joined many other guests who enjoyed hotel amenities such as the swimming pool, gym and sauna which are available for the guests free of charge, bar facilities included. For any visitor, the Covanro is an excellent introduction to friendly and courteous Sri Lankan hospitality which follows the traditional greeting “Ayubowan”.

I went with my family and 3 other families for 3 nights. This hotel was booked by our friends and I was initially a little disappointed that it didn't have beach access as I can't really see myself enjoying a short holiday if not by a beach as I long for early morning walks by the shore. But I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel and all its many features. The property is absolutely stunning, with greenery everywhere and you feel like you have been transported to a tropical jungle. The rooms are villa style and massive in comparison to other hotels in this category. We never felt crammped and enjoyed spending time in the little portico area as well. The food is very good and fresh and some of it sourced form their organic garden. There are two ponies thar roam the property which is a nice feature esp for the kids. The staff are friendly and very accommodating and ready to please. I enjoyed early morning walks around the property with and saw many birds and butterflies as well. Their organic garden is also very inspiring and educational esp.for the kids as the staff explain, composting and farm to table concepts. All in all, we all had a fabulous vacation and will definitely return in the future.

Das Zimmer ist sauber, und der Boss ist sehr freundlich und hilft uns immer großzügig, unseren Bedürfnissen gerecht zu werden. wir schätzen es wirklich. Danke und wir kommen wieder, wenn es eine Chance gibt.

Insgesamt bin ich recht zufrieden. Die Lage ist leicht zu finden, es gibt viele Restaurants in der Nähe und der Service ist auch gut. Gepäck kann kostenlos aufbewahrt werden. Die Klimaanlage ist normal, aber der Ton ist etwas laut. Verbesserungspotenzial gibt es bei der Hygiene der Bettwäsche usw. Das Gesamterlebnis ist gut.

This place is excellent for a stay. Especially if coming to or from the international airport. Our welcome was friendly and efficient. The room is excellent, pristine and equipped for all that is needed for our overnight stay. The bed is also very comfortable. Breakfast was brought to the room however I chose to have this at the small table and chairs outside of the room on a small terrace. A perfect place for this. The breakfast is more than adequate, also caters for me as a vegetarian. I asked for a knock at my door to be woken up in case I had slept thrmy alarm and this was given. Such a delightful place to stay. A small courtyard garden with a static table and seats if wanted. Garden lights during the evening make this a pretty area to relax. Tea, coffee and water are available in the room. There was air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The accommodation is located down a side road from the main road. This means it’s nice and quiet. For dinner we decided to walk jumping a few metres to another hotel which served food. However, Faith Hotel do have menus for which to order food which would be delivered if required. Alternatively, we were offered an option of being taken to another place if we wished. We had booked for 2 separate airport transfers as we were travelling on separately to different places. This was organised by and with the owner dropping us all in good time. I noted while at the stay, information regarding trips to places and even tours can be organised. Additionally there is information on an Ayurveda treatments option at a place called Ayurveda Villa which really looked good. This had different packages with a stay including food consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor to decide on the relevant treatments for your package. To use up our rupees we were able to pay part cash, part card which was so convenient. This couple really do offer everything in a stay at Airport Faith Hotel. They are passionate about what they do, are committed to making your stay the best. They have everything available or on hand and can’t do enough to make your stay a happy and good one. I highly recommend a stay here.

Weil der Flughafen dieses Haus nahezu reserviert hat, wo er um die Mitte der Nacht übernachtet, ist der Boss sehr enthusiastisch, der Kellner hat uns zwei von einem Wäscheschrank mitgeliefert. Unter dem dunklen Licht des Zimmers fand ich, dass Bettwäsche und Wäsche schmutzig sind, und wir haben nichts davon getrunken. Das Zimmer ist sehr groß, die Schlafzimmertür kann nicht geschlossen werden, die Richtung einer anderen Tür, ein wenig zusammengebrochen, andere können aus dem Ausland in unser Schlafzimmer kommen! Am Morgen um 5 Uhr ist es nicht möglich, das Flugzeug zu nehmen, und unsere beiden Mädchen haben mehr als 30 Hektar Taschen von oben herumgezogen. Ich habe gestern einen Taxi gerufen, und wir waren alle überrascht, dass wir drei Räder sehen, und der Preis verdoppelt, weil wir nicht die Gepäck- und Sicherheitsgründe ablassen können, wir wollten nicht fahren, der Fahrer ging wütend und sagte: ”Ihr habt Geld, Unser Land ist alle arm. Wir sind sehr unbehaglich. Die Fehler des Hotels haben uns nicht über den Preis und den Taxi informiert, so dass der Fahrer einen Missverständnis hatte. Das Hotel konnte mich nicht mehr anrufen oder an den Flughafen arrangieren. Im Falle der Verzögerung des Fluges fanden wir endlich ein Auto am U-Boot-Schwarzen Straße, und es war leider ein Glück. Es wird empfohlen, den Flug nicht früh im informellen Hotel zu verbringen, wenn die Reise nicht sehr problematisch ist.

Ziegler Cottage was our comfortable home for a few days while we visited Negombo. It is easy to reach from the airport, and you can take tuk-tuks or the bus into Negombo. Our room had a sea view and a balcony with sea breezes making airconditioning unnecessary. The waves were too high for us to swim in the sea but the pool made up for it. Food, especially the fruit selection at breakfast, was very good. Staff were responsive and very hard-working. The hotel can organize trips--our all-day outing to a spice plantation, the Ridee Viharaya Temple, and the elephant park was perfect. Everyone goes out of their way to accommodate your needs. The hotel owner drove us to our destination when our ride did not show up. Thank you for a memorable stay! we look forward to returning.

Das Hotel war unser letztes Hotel der Rundreise. Es lag für uns viel zu sehr im Abseits. Man brauchte eine halbe Stunde mit dem TukTuk um irgendwo zu sein. An der Rezeption arbeiten unfreundliche Menschen. Nur hier wurden wir so unfreundlich empfangen. Das Frühstück schlechter als in anderen Hotels, Abendessen ebenso. Wir waren zum Monsun hier und wir hatten auch eine Nacht einen sehr starken Regen, so dass unsere Zimmer unter Wasser standen. Wir wischten mit unseren Handtüchern trocken. Niemand half oder schloss Fenster oder wischte die Flure, so dass alles nass und slippy war. Am nächsten Tag gab es vorsichtshalber keine Nachfragen. Handtücher bekamen wir auch nicht, vermutlich liegen sie noch im Flur. Ich würde das Hotel nicht weiter empfehlen.

nach einigen Hotel Erfahrungen in Colombo sind wir jetzt im Red Cinnemon Colombo seit ca. 2 Wochen. Das Hotel entspricht einem Mittelklasse Hotel. Zimmer sind modern und gut ausgestattet für den Standard in Sri Lanka. ( nicht mit Asia Hotels Standard wie in Thailand oder Singapur zu vergleichen, da ist Sri Lanka weit davon entfernt). Essen ist gut, leider immer zu scharf gewürzt nach Reklamation wurde sich bemüht aber das entspricht nicht dem Standard eines 4 Sterne Hotel, alles wird immer auf die Corona Situation geschoben, hier in Sri Lanka was jeder zur Ausrede benützt. Frühstück entsprich normalem Standard. Mittag essen im Restaurant a la Karte das sehr gut ist leider nur von 12-14.30 Uhr dann gibt es noch die Room Service zur Selbstabholung Karte dort gibt es allerdings nur Fast Food und immer kalt das Essen. Auf dem Dach bei der Bar kann man auch essen bestellen aber ebenfalls Fast Food.... alles dauert sehr sehr lange bis man sein bestelltes Getränk in dem Bistro in der Lobby oder oben in der Bar auf dem Dach bestellt. Das Restaurant bietet am Abend Büffet an allerdings sehr spät für uns Europäer von 19-22 Uhr oder 22.30 Uhr Auswahl scharfes Essen für uns Europäische Gäste nicht gerade gut geeignet und leider alle Gäste waren enttäuscht jeder hätte gerne für sein Geld die Landes Küche mal probieren wollen anstatt sich auf Bockwurst und Suppe oder Nachtisch zu konzentrieren. Schade... Kaum Schattenplatz am Pool, keine Schatten Segel gespannt weder auf der großen Dachterrasse noch am Pool. Allgemein sehr eng alles aber für Gäste wo 1 Nacht hier verbringen bei Ankunft oder bevor man wieder nachhause fliegt reicht es aus. Dann hatten wir noch ein unschönes Erlebnis hier im Hotel. Die online Banken in Deutschland hatten wieder mal online, Login Probleme und wenn man so lange paar Monate in Asien unterwegs ist schleppt man ja nicht zuviel Bargeld mit sich. Wir wollten weiter nach Singapur und dann nach Thailand mussten aber wegen der Bank Probleme hier im Cinnemon Red verlängern bis sich das geklärt hat und wir wieder unsere Bankkarten benutzen können. Wir hatten dem Hotel Direktor und der Rezeption bescheid gegeben und gefragt ob wir die Übernachtungen in paar Tagen bezahlen können bis sich das Problem gelöst hat. Uns wurde zugesichert es sei kein Problem alles gut. Wir waren happy und erleichtert da hier immer Vorkasse gilt nicht Bezahlung bei Check out wie in anderen Hotels. Damit begann eine sehr unschöne und unwohle Zeit hier im Cinnemon Red. Täglich wurden wir mehrmals von der Rezeption angerufen ob sich das Problem nun erledigt hätte wann wir bezahlen usw. immer wieder mussten wir erklären....zu guter letzt nach paar Tagen mussten wir beim Hotel Direktor antretten und wegen 265.000 RS für 2 Zimmer (ca. 700€) erklären wie wir das bezahlen wollen. Der Umgang mit uns (F&B Manager und Reisebüro Inhaber) war etwas beschämend das muss man sagen, in einer Ausnahme Situation für Gäste kein sonderlich angenehmes Gefühl. Lt. unserer Online Bank
