The Ardilaun Hotel

"Our stay at The Ardulain was just okay. The rooms were a bit complicated to find, and some staff seemed unsure about directions to the rooms, especially to the underground car park. However, the night porter was a true gentleman, providing excellent service despite the challenges."

Nice hotel, not in center city. Professional staff who were helpful and pleasant. very clean. Nice gardens although not so fairy-like as they say. Bistro was mixed quality, first night was good server, good food, second night was the total opposite.

I had a lovely stay in the Ardilawn. I was on my own for 3 days and with my husband for two days. A very comfortable hotel to stay when on your own. The bar food was very good and I was happy to eat there on my own. Some slightly shabby parts in the building that could do with freshening up but overall a very nice experience.

This is a very good quality hotel, and it has a relaxing atmosphere, great food, lovely gardens and a chill relaxing vibe. Halway between Salthill and the city, it is an excellent base for Galway City and environs. The staff are most welcoming and helpful. The rooms are large and comfortable.

I decided to extend my stay with them because my boyfriend and me had a great stay. When we checked reception they told me a price (294€ ish with breakfast) for an extra night. I checked online in the hotel website and it showed me a cheaper price (238€ room only) because a discount. Then I went to reception because I wanted to keep the same room but as well keep that price so I checked with them which option could be better. Book online or book with them and I was told they could fix the price to match it with the price on the website with no breakfast. Well, next morning at check out they surprised me telling me that I had to pay 294€ which os funny because that is the price with breakfast and I didnt have breakfast. And later she told me the best she could do for me is 270€ that is actually the real price she should have tried to charge me (and I know that price cause they told me when I asked for room only the day before).When i remembered her about the conversation we had the previous day (it was the same girl) she told me that the lady who agreed to fix the price is not supervisor so she cant do/say nothing. Well she could have said that yesterday. I sent them an email nobody have answered yet. So poor professionalism of the reception team. The rest of the stay was fab and the rest of the staff and the other members of reception very nice.

Excellent hotel and would highly recommend. Everything about the stay was perfect. Nice leisure centre and sauna. Helpful front desk and easy check in and out. I will definitely stay there again if I’m in the area.

Everything was perfect. Room stunning, bed comfortable. Breakfast was everything you could want. Unable to comment on pool as we did not use. Staff friendly and very helpful. Will look to book again if in the area.

Stayed with my wife and 14-month old daughter. Staff contacted me prior to our stay to firm up any additional requests (walk-in shower, cot, fridge in room) and had everything ready ahead of time. Staff were very friendly, courteous, and obliging throughout our stay. Ate in the bar twice and enjoyed our meals (and baby bowl). Plenty of variety in terms of breakfast options (hot buffet, porridge and toast to order). Plenty of parking and pleasant gardens for a stroll. Steps down to bar and dining room not ideal in terms of accessibility but staff happy to assist. Lift to bedrooms and within dining room.

We stayed at the Ardilaun Hotel, Galway from Friday until Monday. The deluxe room was comfortable with a king-sized bed and a pleasant outlook across the car park towards the gardens. The first evening we intended to dine at the Camilaun Restaurant but were disappointed to find that, even though the web site displayed pictures and enticing menus, it was closed, had been for some time and there were no plans for it to reopen. We had to make do with the Bistro. It was awful. The ambience was downmarket for a four-star hotel and the food, typical bistro, almost inedible and overpriced. The staff were very friendly and obliging but lacked Covid training. We were also served with dirty crockery and cutlery. The worst was yet to come. On both Friday and Saturday evenings the hotel hosted weddings in the function room which also fronted the car park. We were kept awake, initially by dance music and then, from midnight onwards, by live rock bands playing incredibly loud “music” until 02.00 AM. We were then disturbed by noisy revellers saying their farewells and leaving the hotel. The hotel also hosts coach parties who seem to occupy rooms at the back of the hotel so are less disturbed by the noise. About 06.00 the coaches arrived keeping their engines running to maintain air conditioning and filling out room with diesel fumes. Breakfast the following morning was part buffet and marginally acceptable but plastic tablecloths in a four-star hotel? Hardly what one would expect. Needless to say we did not take dinner at the hotel again which meant driving or taking a taxi into the town centre to find a restaurant that served edible food.
