Icarus Hotel

No one tells you this - but Icarus Suite Apartments are part of 3 different hotel group - transport had us under different name and dropped us nearby. It has caused me some stress trying to figure out where we are in fact meant to go. Then, we have been put in the older part of the hotel, under a different name (Lefkoniko Beach Hotel), which was lower standard than advertised. Bathroom was really dark, with one light only, and shower was so tiny that you ended up flooding the floor each time because you moved. I'm pretty sure there have been either bed bugs or flees in the room, I've been bitten so much. Definitely not mosquitos, as I had wall plugin for it and sprayed myself with jungle formula each night to the point of being sticky. Hotel food was also definitely very basic, little to no Greek food that I was hoping for. Return pick up was stressfull again because we had no clue which of the 3 hotels we will be picked up from. Ended up being strategically placed with my mum and then told off by the driver for not being at the right place! Only good thing was the location! Overall, I had better hopes.

We had a great time at the hotel! We spent eight wonderful days there and cannot be grateful enough for the experience! The hotel has a great location, a few hundred meters from the beach, the nearest minimarket is only 100 meters away. The wonderfully maintained landscaped garden has beautiful plants, a great pool with sunbeds and umbrellas, a comfortable breakfast area, and a barbecue area. The cleaning staff does a great job, the rooms and the entire accommodation are very clean and well maintained. The breakfast selection is more than satisfactory, although the omelette was a bit overcooked.. Our apartment had two rooms, with a huge bathroom and jacuzzi, we found it really comfortable. The air conditioning is very efficient, quiet, and despite the heat, we felt comfortable in our room. The beds were comfortable, the linens were clean and of good quality. We were able to easily prepare food for ourselves in the equipped kitchen, we had all the tools for it. There was a smart TV in the living room, and we could watch our own content on it without any difficulty! We have to highlight the work of Dimitris, the boss of the place, because he deserves it! He contacted us before our arrival and arranged breakfast for my children with food sensitivities in advance, so we are very grateful to him! During our stay, he was a very pleasant host, he helped a lot with his advice and ideas. He arranged the transfers without any difficulty, they arrived on time, were clean and of great quality. The greatest thing was that we felt that he was not doing it out of obligation, but out of a desire to help, he was a real host, in the strictest sense of the word. Thank you Dimitris! If not next year, we'll be back here!
