Die Freundlichkeit des gesamten Personals, das Frühstücksbuffet, das Massageangebot stechen heraus. Das Hotel an sich ist auch schön, aber etwas ausserhalb. Ohne Auto ist man lost... die Busverbindungen ins Zentrum sind gut, aber enden um 20.30 Uhr. Das Taxi für die Rückfahrt kostet um Euro 20.00. Das Hotel selbst hat kein Restaurant - dieses befindet sich unten am Strand. Sehr schönes Restaurant, aber manchmal möchte man vielleicht nur noch eine Kleinigkeit essen und sich nicht mehr aus dem Hotel verschieben. Der Strand ist toll, sauber und wenig Leute. Alles im allem eine erholsame, schöne Woche.

L'hôtel, situé sur une grande avenue de Bastia bénéficie d'un vaste parking. Nous y avions une chambre donnant à l'arrière et, s'il n'y avait pas de vue, il n'y avait également, pas de nuisances sonores. Bonne literie et petite pièce annexe très utile pour y entreposer les bagages. De plus, l'hôtel a la bonne idée de ne pas mettre de couette en période caniculaire, ce qui nous évite de l'enlever ! Il dispose d'un restaurant ou les repas et le petit déjeuner peuvent être pris dans le jardinet en bord de rue mais protégé d'une grande verrière. Grande gentillesse et esprit décontracté de l'ensemble de l'équipe de cet hôtel (comme dans de très nombreux endroits en Corse). L'hôtel est à quelques mètres d'un arrêt de bus permettant d'atteindre le centre-ville rapidement sans avoir la contrainte de trouver des places de stationnement. En bref, nous avons été très contents des prestations de cet établissement.

Hotel Le Bastia is a well appointed three-star hotel. The hotel rooms are nice (we stayed in a two bed apartment- still part of the hotel building) which was spacious with a large bathroom and another separate toilet. The rooms are nicely decorated and the hotel was opened in 2020, so is relatively new. When you first enter your room, it can be quite dark as they have sliding shutters over the windows and from the outside and inside they look a little austere. However, they can be easily opened to let in the light and do a great job of keeping the sun at bay - which is very welcome, as it is HOT in Bastia in July! On the subject of temperature, Bastia was much more humid than other Mediterranean locations I have been to, mainly, one guesses to the proximity of the mountains, which the mist and clouds cling to quite often. Good news then, that the hotel rooms have great air-conditioning and it's quite a relief to step into q cool and less humid room after a day out exploring. The breakfast is adequate, lacking some variation, but in-line with other breakfasts I've had in France and at similar level hotels, like Best Western. Don't expect bacon, sausages or fresh made-to-order omelettes. The breakfast staff are warm and attentive and made our morning meals a pleasure. The view over Bastia from the breakfast area really starts your day off well. The reception staff were wonderful; friendly and engaging and delighted to help out where they can, in particular Ann Lore and Alice, classy and professional - make a great team. The only issue we had was with the cleaning staff, who l did a poor job of cleaning (the floor was filthy and there was a small amount of broken glass in a walk-in closet when we arrived) and didn't change the sheets until half-way through our second week. We didn't complain initially (we were trying to relax - plus we're British, lol!) but an incident where they came to clean and we asked for five minutes and they refused and started cleaning anyway because they were finishing for the day, was the last straw (they also left us no toilet rolls - none at all for five people). In Reception, Alice handled it beautifully, informing me that the sheets should be changed every three days. She called management to deal with them and Ann arranged for the floor to be mopped. Both these things were done the next morning. The swimming pool is small but lovely to look at and nice to hang out around. Unfortunately, the pool filters could do with some cleaning as there was quite a build up of hair and debris, like people's old plasters, that was a bit off-putting! Bastia is a port and is served by ferries from France and Italy, thus many guests only stay a day or two. We stayed for a whole two weeks and apart from the issue with the cleaners, we had a really lovely time. The only two things that might have improved our stay, would be larger safes in the room. Wir haben nach Ankunft mit der Fähre in Bastia in diesem Hotel übernachtet. Wir waren schon vorher (2019) in diesem Hotel gewesen und sind heute extrem psoitiv überrasch worden. Das Hotel ist frisch renoviert: die Zimmer sind modern und sehr schön eingerichtet, vorzügliches, rückenfreundliches Bett. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Am Abend haben wir im Restaurant des Hotels gegessen und waren überrascht von der Qualität des Essens und der Freundlichkeit des Personals. Das Hotel verfügt auch über einen privaten, geschlossenen Parkplatz für das Auto. Alles in allem ein sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel!!
