Mein erster Eindruck vom Hotel war überhaupt nicht positiv ... Die Zimmertür war verzogen, die Fensterrahmen waren ziemlich veraltet (an zwei Nächten unseres Aufenthalts war es windig und die Fenster machten viel Lärm und hatten wenig Isolierung) und das Zimmer hatte keine Handtücher oder Toilettenpapier ... Nach diesem ersten Eindruck wurde es besser. Das Frühstück war gut und recht abwechslungsreich. Das Hotel hat auch einen kostenlosen Innen- und Außenpool, Handtücher werden zur Verfügung gestellt. Das Hotel bietet Parkplätze für 7 Euro pro Nacht an, aber mit etwas Glück haben wir es geschafft, kostenlos in einer Straße hinter dem Hotel zu parken (wo das Hotel durch eine Hintertür leicht zu erreichen war). Check-in und Check-out verliefen reibungslos.

Pensione a conduzione familiare in pieno centro a Funchal, vicina alla funivia, da cui si possono raggiungere tutte le principali attrazioni della città, il lungomare e il porto. La pensione è uno dei pochi edifici d'epoca rimasti a Funchal. E' a conduzione familiare ed è dotata anche di una depandance nella strada attigua che è ottima per chi viaggia con i gruppi. Noi come gruppo abbiamo soggiornato lì. Al secondo piano ci sono due bagni per tre stanze, ma essendo solo noi non è stato un problema. Al primo piano c'è anche un salottino comune che è stato utile per fare incontri e organizzare le giornate. La colazione è compresa, non è a buffet ma è abbondante tanto che noi spesso ci portavamo anche via i panini per il pranzo. Il proprietario è molto gentile e disponibile. Le stanze sono pulite, la biancheria viene cambiata con regolarità.

I stayed for 2 weeks. Had been there before. Had room 516 with small balcony. Some rooms on one side of hotel are facing a new extension with no view. Just had breakfast only. Plenty of choice. Very bright dining room 6th floor with views over the city to the sea and up to the mountains. Has large sun area on roof above dining room. Friendly cheerful staff. Internet access and computer desk for guests. Very busy hotel. Hotel is uphill from city. No parking space, but lots of underground car parks nearby. I used Parque 5 de Outubro on street of same name €4 per day. Ony 4 or 5 minutes walk from hotel. You have a pass to go in and out any time of day or night. There are others nearby. There is a car park in Rua dos Netos €6 per day. Along the Rua dos Netos there is a small corner shop selling a bit of everything. Drinks, wine, fruit bread etc. Busses pass near hotel going to Monte etc. Get a GIRO card 50c and have journeys put on card €1.35 each €1.95 on bus. Bus to Monte Nos. 21 & 22.

Wunderbares Hotel im Herzen von Funchal. Einfacher Zugang zu jedem Ort in der Stadt. Einige Straßenbau in der Nähe von diesem Grenzen Taxi-Zugang holen, aber das Hotelzimmer ist sehr komfortabel, Pool ist schön mit großer Aussicht und wunderbar hilfreich und freundliches Personal!

We went with our 2 sons and their girlfriends and we had a studio apartment per couple. My husband and I had one of the recently refurbished studios and I have to say it was really good. Spacious, clean and a modern shower room. My sons were both in the older studios and their bathrooms were a bit tired. Beds reasonably comfy. No air con, only ceiling fans. We opened our balcony door at night and we were quite comfortable. However both my sons said they felt uncomfortable at night with no aircon as they didn't feel they could open their doors and ceiling fan was not enough. Rooms were cleaned and beds made every single day. Towels changed regularly too. Staff all exceptionally friendly and helpful. We did not have buffet breakfasts, we chose to go out. We had dinner on one evening, buffet style, but we didn't particularly rate the food and didn't go back. Fantastic location. Mini supermarkets very close by. Bus stop also where you could go into the old town for €1.90 per person (only accept cash on the bus). I would definitely stay here again.

Sehr zentral gelegenes Hotel mit super freundlichem Personal (24 Stunden Pforte und Reinigung).Bäckerei mit Café direkt vor der Türe genauso wie zahlreiche Restaurants.Das Zimmer war erstaunlich gross.Wegen der Strasse vor dem Hotel habe ich nachts das Fenster zugemacht und dann war es ok.Frühstück würde ich nicht hinzubuchen da es wenig abwechslungsreich ist. Da würde ich lieber zur Bäckerei gehen und dort was Herzhaftes essen.5 Sterne habe ich vergeben insbesondere wegen der Lage unter Berücksichtigung des niedrigen Preises für die Übernachtungen.
