The Cornerhouse

Booked the one bedroom apartment and a single room. The apartment is outside and down a dingy alleyway that is very poorly lit, with a dodgy step on the approach. Be careful! It also doesn't seem to have any fire doors. The single room is back in the hotel and up 2 steep flights of stairs. Stayed November 2024 and was very stuffy in the room, even with the radiator off. This made sleeping practically impossible for me, as the window was open the noise from the street and traffic was too much, and I didn't find the bed particularly comfortable. The curtains and bedroom door do nothing to block out any light so I bought a sleep mask and ear plugs and the hotel provided a fan. The apartment is at street level so there is noise from the bus stop outside and the very busy road - some other reviews have said it wasn't a problem for them but we're just not used to it so it was a big problem for us. It would have been unbearable in summer. Check in was odd but my booking was fairly complicated. Not the warmest of welcomes after a very long drive and my bill was calculated wrong so I had to make 2 payments. Breakfast and dinner was delicious and cooked to order. Would have liked a coffee and tea top up with breakfast. Maybe I should have just asked! Overall stay was fine. Great location for Frome shopping, and the Cheese and Grain. Parking, while very narrow and awkward, is available. But I wouldn't book again.

The room was lovely and cosy . The facilities and breakfast were great ! There is a jazz event on the weekends and pub games with the locals. Parking is round the back as there are no parking spaces along the Frome road. A meal can be ordered up to 9.00 pm .and you can enjoy the pies.

What a great find. Not the most attractive outside and carpark but once inside the place is lovely. We had a room at the front and there was no noise, not even from the pub downstairs. The room was clean and fresh with coffee and biscuits supplied. We only dealt with one member of staff who booked us in and waited on us at breakfast, she was excellent, very professional and pleasant. Breakfast was as expected. I had the full English. There is a vegetarian option.

10 hours drive from glasgow arrived at 8 at night wat was funny was to pay your bill first breakfast was great staff were very friendly wifi for the grandaughter spot on the cleaning staff were great to the way some people parked in the car park to jam you in needs looked at longleat was great best laugh was the small bridge at batheaston all vechicles 1 pound you dont get that in glasgow lol they even returned my phone which i left in my room silly me

Stayed one night, warm welcome, room well presented. Breakfast first class, quality ingredients, well presented, could not fault anything. Easy walk to town centre. Free parking on site a bonus. Would not hesitate staying here again…..

Room at the top - quiet with a very comfy bed. Everything you could need and very clean. Genial host (Ross) who ran a good bar, including Guinness. Nothing was too much trouble. Great English breakfast cooked to order as well as cereals, fruit, juices etc. Will definitely stay again when next in Frome. Parking behind the hotel a bonus.
