Hotels in der Nähe von La Grande Galerie, Fréjus

Das Zimmer ist zwar relativ klein, doch bleibt man hier eigentlich ja nur zum Schlafen. Dies ist gut möglich, da die Strasse hinter dem Hotel eher wenig befahren ist und die Klimaanlage so leise arbeitet, dass es sich gut damit und mit geschlossenem Fenster schlafen lässt. Was uns freute, ist der gut funktionierende (leere) Kühlschrank, was uns fehlte, war ein Schrank oder sonst eine etwas grössere Möglichkeit, Kleider aufzuhängen. Aber es hat ja jeden Sonntag einen Markt, da bleiben immer Bügel zurück! Das Ganze ist sauber, die Rezeption nur zu gewissen Zeiten und unterschiedlich besetzt, aber mit dem Zimmerschlüssel kann man Jetztzeit rein. Zu Essen gibt es nur ein Frühstück, welches zwar nicht üppig, aber recht gut ist. Die berühmten ”pain au chocolat” sucht man allerdings vergebens, da anscheinen der Besitzer diese nicht gern hat.

Das Hotel ist Teil einer Appartement-Anlage und belegt dort den ersten Stock. Publikum international (viele Engländer). Lage prima: direkt an Meerespromenade und nur wenige Schritte in den Ort oder zum Bahnhof. Leider lautstarke Reinigungsarbeiten mehrfach pro Woche am frühen Morgen (ab 04.00 Uhr). Zimmer nicht ganz neu, aber OK. Leider immer wieder Mücken im Zimmer, was die Schlafqualität beeinträchtigte. Frühstück relativ umfangreich für französische Verhältnisse und OK. Personal mehrsprachig (inkl. Deutsch und Englisch) und überwiegend sehr freundlich. Fazit: ein Hotel, das man trotzt einiger Mängel empfehlen kann.

Empfang war freundlich. Man teilte uns mit, dass der Pool nicht benützt werden dürfe und die Klimaanlage zur Zeit auch nicht funktioniere. Warum auch immer. Unser Zimmer war sehr, sehr klein, hatte zwar einen Balkon mit Sicht auf den Pool, in welchem keine Menschen sein durften, dafür badeten darin Tauben und Möven. Sehr unappetitlich. Das Geschrei der Vögel Tag und Nacht ist zudem sehr lautstark. Im Zimmer war ein kleiner Tisch, ein Hocker und ein Stuhl. Das alles war vor der Balkon- und der Kastentüre platziert. Man musste also dauern Möbel rücken, wenn man Zutritt zum Kasten oder Balkon wollte. Von uns auf den Boden gelegte Handtücher wurden wieder aufgehängt. Nach unserer Reklamation an der Reception dann erneuert. Im Nebenzimmer haben Gäste auf dem Balkon ”Gras” geraucht und wir hatten den ganzen Gestank im Zimmer. Unerfreulich für uns Nichtraucher. Die Tiefgarage konnten wir nicht benutzen, war zu wenig hoch und auf dem Parkplatz vor dem Haus hatte man nie den gleichen Platz. Zahlen mussten wir aber im April noch nichts. Die Bar war eigentlich immer unbesetzt. Wenn man etwas trinken wollte, setzte man sich hin und wartete, bis sich jemand vom Personal erbarmte. Das Frühstücksbuffet war in Ordnung, das Personal könnte sich etwas mehr Mühe geben und die Gläser und Tassen nicht oben am Rand berühren etc. Es scheint, dass das Personal nicht besonders motiviert ist. Ob das ein Führungsproblem ist? Die Speisekarte des Restaurants war die ganze Woche die gleiche. Sehr langweilig. Also geht man auswärts. (An der Promenade unweit des Hotels gibt es verschiedene Restaurants - indisch, italienisch, Fisch etc. - . In diesem Hotel könnte man mit wenig Aufwand einen grossen Schub nach vorne erreichen. Personal müsste natürlich das auch wollen. Schade, für den Beginn der Sommersaison. Für uns absolut kein Viersterne-Hotel-Level. Wir können dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen!!

The room (appartement) was very nice and clean. Lovely kitchen and good bathroom. Breakfast was good. We asked for an appartment with balcony but did get one with terrace which we do not prefer because of the dogs. It seemed there was an appartment with balcony available during our stay. The main gate could not be closed during the night. It was broken during our stay.

Wir haben diese Ecke des Paradieses zufällig entdeckt. Alles ist perfekt, die Zimmer sind gut eingerichtet und klimatisiert, mit Blick auf das Meer, sehr wunderschönes Frühstück, wenn zum Abendessen eine göttliche Küche mit lokalen Produkten gemacht. Die Kirsche auf dem Kuchen ist die Familienumgebung, die es in diesem Hotel herrscht. Jean Christophe, Pascale und Brigitte sind mit uns kleine Pflege, sie haben immer das Lächeln, sie sind wirklich wunderschön. Ich habe schon lange kein Hotel gefunden, das ist ein Pepit.

Die Zimmer sind sehr dreckig, viele Haare vom Vorgänger. Die Matratzen haben gelbe Flecken, es gibt auch Haare von früheren Gästen. Kein passender Matratzenschoner. Auf dem Flur wird geraucht, weil dort geraucht wird. Das Badezimmer ist verschimmelt, dreckig, überall schwarze Haare und der Toilettensitz ist abgerissen. In den zwei Zimmern, die bewohnt waren.

Where do I start, let’s start with the good and keep it short. Free and convenient parking practically at the door to your apartment, the wifi worked well and the bed was reasonably comfortable. There was a little outside garden area with a table and some chairs but the garden area didn’t really look that inviting The staff at the office were friendly. The bad, it is a longer list. When you arrive at the area where the reception office is the area around it looks like an abandoned shopping centre on a council estate with a building that looks like it could have four or five shops, cafes etc but instead is just an empty shell with some of the leaves from outside scattered on the floor and the concreted area out the front of these abandoned shops and reception area is just a faded painted concrete slab. The apartment is really where things go downhill, while opening the door was easy locking it from either the inside or outside with the key which was the only way to lock it was near impossible and I had to call reception to come and help and she showed me how it works and you have to “force” the lever to a 12 o’clock position and then turn the key and after a few tries it did lock but each time I went to lock it I had the same problem over and over again which really shouldn’t be the case locks should work. The apartment is a decent size but so poorly laid out, there is an L-shaped main room with a trundle sofa which I think converts to two single beds at one end of the room and a table and four plastic chairs at the other end with a TV in between. There were also a couple of little tables. There was also a freestanding wardrobe in one corner. The main problems with the room was the lack of lighting with just one ceiling bulb to cover the whole room and while it wasn’t a huge room it needed more lighting. There was a lamp near the sofa but it wasn’t much use. Off to the side was a very steep staircase though I am not sure it would legally qualify in many parts of the world as a staircase and is more of a ladder/staircase and under the stairs were some mops and brooms and a clothes airer thing. Off the main room was the small kitchenette which was pretty typical of the setup you get in this type of accommodation. It had the usual, a small under the counter fridge/freezer, sink, two burner cooktop, microwave and range hood but the only source of light in the kitchen area was the light on the rangehood. There were plates, glasses and cutlery for four people though some things only had three while others had five. A couple of pots and a pan but really no utensils except a strange group of about 6 items and it looked like as things go missing which I guess they do they are not replaced. The sink had a wall mounted dishwashing liquid dispenser but it was attached to the wall and didn’t reach the sink which really defeats the purpose. Our Home away from home !- located right in the center of town , walkable to stores , restaurants & the port . The staff is fabulous - you feel like you’re staying at someone’s private home in town . The pool area, bar & restaurant are a secret oasis - very tranquil by day & sexy by night . The live music , the food, the ambiance create the perfect romantic vibe . The new beach club - Jardin Tropozeine -is a game changer for the hotel this year - the quality of food is amazing and the beach beds are very comfortable . As the sun sets the beach becomes a lounge area with live music as you have a fabulous dinner under the stars - the atmosphere is elegant both day & night. The perfect addition to the Pan Dei romantic Palais atmosphere. The Pan Dei family is always warm & friendly & really go the extra mile to accommodate requests . Pan Dei Palais - a gorgeous jewel oasis in the center of St tropez . Looking forward to many more remarkable visits!
