What an oasis this place is! The rooms were spacious and AC worked great. The resort is quiet, but the pool is amazing and refreshing. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The kitchen had the main things needed to cook; however, I would recommend more plates/bowls, etc so you don’t have to run the dishwasher every night. There was a washer and dryer in the room as well and a full size fridge. It’s in walking distance of two restaurants, one on the resort, Dolphin Cove, which you must have a reservation for. The other is LaRoc (about a 15 min walk). Highly recommend stopping by the grocery store before you come. A great place to stay!

My wife and I booked through RCI for a 2 weeks stay. The resort provides a free shuttle bus to different beaches on weekdays at 11am and returns at 3pm. The shuttle takes you to a grocery store on Saturdays and Sundays. The highlights by far was the great outdoor hot tub and the fun entertainment provided by AJ. The resort is not in walking distance to anywhere.....you need to rent a car if you want to explore at $50pd. Paradise Cove on the west side of the island is the place to go to snorkel. It is $7 entry pp and $7 for a sunbed. Bring your own goggles mask and you can rent flippers. You can swim to the island reefs. BEWARE ....dont stay till sunset - I am still recovering after 2 weeks from 300-400 bites on my body from the noseeum (sand fleas). They are extremely itchy and if scratched, get infected. Conch shells are a beautiful souvenir - but the airport security will not let you take the shells in carry on luggage. So unless you have checked bags, it will cost you $35. At the far west end of Freeport, there are many conch shells discarded by fishermen on either side of the slipway into the sea. They cut out the conch, and toss the shells on either side of the slipway. It is easy to wash out the remains of the conch and seaweed so the shell is hygenic. Our unit had an adequate kitchen with an oven and microwave. The TV had many channels including plenty of free Youtube movies. The snooker table is very popular among residents. The resort is undergoing maintenance and will be super when work is complete. Wifi is not free. Lucaya Market shops are good to buy caps, T shirts and beach bags as gifts.

Obwohl ich die vielen kritischen Rezessionen gelesen habe, habe ich mich dennoch entschieden für 10 Tage zum Tauchen in das Hotel zu gehen. Ich habe wenig erwartet und viel bekommen. Das Tauchen war sehr gut organisiert, viel Papierkram konnte ich bereits von zuhause erledigen. Das Animationsteam war gut gelaunt, fröhlich aber nie nervig oder aufdringlich. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und vieles wurde im Vergleich zu den Bildern der Rezessionen erneuert und aufgewertet. Hell, freundlich, viel weiß. Der Strand ist super sauber (regelmäßige Reinigung) und wird von Sicherheitspersonal bewacht, so konnte ich Schnorcheln, mir ein SUP ausleihen, Essen gehen und Getränke holen… während ich meine Liege mit Wertsachen zurück lies. Das beste sind die Sonnenliegen im Schatten der Palmen. Mein Zimmer hat kleine Schönheitsfehler, aber insgesamt war alles ok und funktionierte. Lediglich die Erneuerung der Handtücher folgte einem mir nicht nachvollziehbaren System. Erst wurden die Handtücher eingesammelt und zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt wieder im Zimmer ausgelegt; d.h. zwischenzeitlich hatte ich tagsüber auch mal kein Handtuch und manchmal fehlte die Fußmatte oder die kleinen Handtücher. Das Personal ist super freundlich, sehr zuvorkommend und für Spaß zu haben.
