1. Staff: Professional, gracious, unerring staff and service. Accommodated all requests, including use of their clothes dryer, although laundry services are not generally available. 2. Vibe: Idyllically charming New England inn/b&b. 3. Food: Delicious made to order full and generous breakfast choices. They know how to do scrambled eggs. Excellent coffee. 4. Rooms: Immaculate. Comfortable. Spacious. Quiet. Period decor but nothing futsy. . Everything was fresh or brand new. 5. Internet/cell: Free. No problems whatsoever with tech. 6. Economical. Bests the competition in Amherst, which is often close to booked, because it's a multiple college town. 7.. Location/Parking: Well and conveniently located close to the town center. Plenty of parking. Just loved my stay at the Black Walnut Inn, although I was there for a memorial. It offered a peaceful, soothing place to stay. All was great, but the service was especially wonderful.

The Inn is a beautiful historic mansion, well cared for and thoughtfully updated as a B&B. Our large room in the original portion of the house was very comfortable and attractive. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning; the menu offered gluten-free and vegetarian selections. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

We always look forward to our stay at the Black Walnut Inn. It never disappoints. Our room was large, well appointed and very quiet. The Inn provides a plentiful breakfast with fresh made options. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We definitely return on our next visit to the Amherst region.

The Black Walnut Inn has been much more than an extremely comfortable, beautifully designed and furnished hotel room during my weeks in this neck of the woods to visit with my ill sister. The owners of this place are incredibly kind, good people. They have gone far out of their way for me, almost as if we were family. I cannot thank them adequately.

This was the second time my wife and I stayed at this inn. We are constantly amazed by the attention to detail at every aspect of this place. Everything is immaculate, you would be hard pressed to find a speck of dust anywhere. The breakfasts we enjoyed were fantastic. The added bonus is the homemade jams that are to die for. We will definitely keep this on our list of places to stay.

Reminded us of the indigenous roots of the area and the family. The fresh eggs came from local chickens. The breakfasts were so spectacular and the table setting so perfect that we thought we were breakfasting at Downton Abbey. Wonderful.
