Aleli Cottages

Aleli Cottages is an oasis on Culebra. The grounds are stunning and each cottage feels extremely private. The views from each room is a dream. We loved returning back to our home away from home each night. I highly recommend Aleli. I read many people complain about the walk to the cottages, which we were shocked by. It's an extremely short walk from the parking area to the rooms. And then, you're in absolute paradise. Check is was effortless due to their lock box system. Thank you, Aleli! ＜3

Stayed here for 2 nights in December of 2024. Pros: - Gorgeous location! - Comfortable room (I loved my little cottage; my traveling companion was less impressed with his -- be aware they are TINY) - They provide beach chairs, beach towels, and coolers -- everything you need for day trips to Culebra's many gorgeous beaches - My cottage had a fridge and coffee maker (though no coffee, one would have to bring their own), and note that you have to wash your dishes, if you use them, in the small bathroom sink Cons: - Website does not disclose the cottages are at the top of an extremely steep mountain (with poorly paved/maintained roads) - Terrible customer service -- extremely unhelpful when we needed some help with an emergency schedule change. We needed to check out a night early. We swallowed the cost of the extra night, and they still wanted to charge us a fee on top of that swallowed cost for a late checkout. Absurd. After many hours of back and forth we finally got them to drop this extra fee, but it took a while.They do not pick up the phone when you call and ask you instead to text them, but they aren't very helpful over text. When you do get them on the phone they're quite rude. - Towels not particularly clean - Our cottages had no separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom; it's close to impossible not to get the entire bathroom wet after a shower - Their website "recommends" renting a Jeep from Carlos, without mentioning Carlos is the owner of Aleli, which feels quite scummy. Though this was a beautiful location, I would not stay here again.

Update: BEDBUGS in Ruisenor as of November 15-17, 2024. I’ve posted pictures for proof this is not mosquito bites. Would clarify that this issue has been taken care of before booking!!!! We stayed in Ruisenor and the view was incredible. The rooms are definitely a bit bare.. example a coffee pot but no filters or coffee grounds. One luggage rack has been added to the room with a small table. The outdoor shower was incredible. In the morning we found a small scorpion on the bed but that’s what happens when staying in locations like this 🙊 The views of the ocean are definitely the best rooms. Ruisenor’s bathroom is attached. Yaboa’s bathroom I’m not sure about but they look over the ocean. Bubi’s and Pelicano’s bathroom are detached but also look over the ocean. Bubi and Pelicano’s rooms are right next to the kitchen area that is shared (very minimal but has a stove, oven, pots, microwave and silverware). Caviota looks over the airport and marina view. I’d stick with the ocean view it’s incredible at sunset

My husband and I returned from our stay at Aleli Cottages in Pica Flor, and loved it! I was surprised by the fact that it is more of a “condo” type stay vs “hotel”. They do not have shampoo/conditioner or body wash available so make sure to bring your own. The view from Pica Flor was amazing! The bed was nice and cozy. The room very clean. It’s definitely smaller than the pictures let on. The balcony bath tub was not very clean. The roosters and chickens were alway around and quite noisy!! you for sure need to rent a vehicle. We rented a jeep and we’re so thankful we did that instead of a golf cart. Many of the places we drove to would have been very hard with a golf cart. Overall our stay was fantastic and I would definitely recommend staying!

Literally the most amazing cottages with the most beautiful view. Each night of our stay we sat on the porch watching the sunset over the ocean. Like heaven on earth! The cottages we stayed in were so clean and the beds were so comfortable. The room stayed cool at night and we slept perfect. I'm going to bring my family every year. This is a special place that I'm so grateful we found!

I went with my husband for a getaway moment. I just love it. I think is the best view of the island that you can get. Very peaceful, the weather is great. The night is incredible and dont talk about the morning view. is beautiful! Very clean, a lots of parking space…..
