The Old Quay House Hotel

I stayed here for 3 nights early November and it was just lovely! It’s right in the centre of fowey in a perfect spot, with amazing views from the back on the terrace. The breakfast in the morning was great and the service from the hotel was very good. My room was nice and pretty spacious though I’d booked the most standard room. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a stay in Fowey!

A lovely little hotel, with a lovely feel to it. Our lady at check in was a delight and very helpful. We opted for one of the cheap and cheerful rooms, but were met with a beautiful little room with a really lovely bathroom. For the price we paid to include breakfast we were impressed at the level of service and quality of the room. My only gripe was having the loo roll holder apart of the toilet brush stand, which didn’t sit right with me on a pleasant or hygienic stance. The carpet (after I had dropped an earring) had lots of long black strands of hair over it (I do not have black hair and my partner has a shaved head) which I felt let the room down on a whole, especially as the bathroom was spotless, so it clearly hadn’t been hoovered. Breakfast was really well done and my partner commented how well it was executed. The receptionist lady was great and was whizzing around serving on her own with finesse and efficiency. I would recommend this hotel if you’re in town on a short visit and need a solid performing hotel. It’s not too far from the harbour car park and is easily walkable with a case or two.

Was just perfect on Friday Steak Night, they even had two options for those who are not keen on steaks or meat. Chef and team, thank you. The whole experience provided by the restaurant team was the most enjoyable. Beautiful simple cocktails to start our evening and then the meal. Four different steaks all cocked like we requested Amazing. We will be back. On Friday for sure.
