Anemi Folegandros

Do not deserve a 5 stars.. no teapot for breakfast, poor menu at the restaurant. We had the impression to bother the welcome desk each time we had a question. Congratulations to the SPA and to the driver for the pick up from the harbour to the hotel!

I’m finally catching up on reviews, and I’m sorry I didn’t leave this one earlier! We stayed May 2023, not October 2023. We stayed at the very early part of the Folegandros tourist season, late May: the season on this island is shorter than others, about May-July, partially because it’s not as well-known as a tourist destination — and THAT is exactly why we chose this wonderful place! If you are the type of traveler who is looking for a low key, truly decompressing calm experience — perhaps after a longer trip or other more high-energy island travel — please consider the island of Folegandros. We didn’t have a car this trip, and we’re ending a very intensive two week trip, with the plan to stay the last few days somewhere without any need to move much, stay in the same town, be near water, also have a pool with a restaurant too, a nearby town with excellent affordable food, and just CHILL. Anemi allowed us to do just that, and we are SO GRATEFUL. As pictured, Anemi has the amenities of a high-end island resort experience at half the cost (including laundry service, much-needed at the end of a long trip!). It’s within 5-10 minute walking distance of the small town, and within a short drive to the larger city of Chora. The resort itself is not on any difficult hills at all, and just a 5-minute drive by shuttle to the ferry port, which they can help you arrange! And the small town area down the road had — and I mean this — some of the best food I have ever had: Del Capo. Plus the (poolside!) restaurant at Anemi is *also fantastic*, as is the infinity-pool overlooking the Aegean Sea, with bar — at which hanging out also looks like a dream come to life. The resort is also a great fit for a wide range of guests looking for low-impact, genuinely restful stays: truly safe for solo travelers, ideal for couples and definitely families, and perfect across age ranges and accessibility needs! This stay and island are some of the sweetest memories of my life. Thank you so much to the staff, and to the island of Folegandros. ＜3 Hopefully we’ll be back.

This is a wonderful hotel. Our rooms were fab, the staff from the lady who cleaned our rooms, to the bar and reception staff couldn’t have been nicer; and the island is a gem. We loved the (salt water) pool and the great breakfasts and the outdoor yoga. From day 2 we were talking about when we would come back! Congratulations to all at the Anemi for creating such a lovely place and thank you for making our holiday a great success.

Currently still at Anemi but could not resist to get in early. Sometimes as we travel we can all get some right and some not so right. Anemi, is certainly when you get it right from the Facilities, Rooms, Cleanliness 10/10 I don’t know how many times I’ve heard my wife say the words “Very Impressed” The location is 1 kilometre if not less from the Port and 3 kilometres from Chora which is perfect. The swimming pool, that’s if you wish to stay at the hotel and relax I would say is 25 metres in length and about 10-15 wide but I stand to be corrected with ample enough daybeds. The breakfast covers more than anyone would require and the bar is also a lovely place to relax. So, I have left the best till last THE PEOPLE at ANEMI are outstanding !!!!!! I witnessed one particular guest treat a young lady with complete disrespect because he wanted to sit on a particular table for breakfast and she kept herself calm and dealt with his disgusting manners in a truly professional manner. I ask myself sometimes as you may witness that sort of behaviour, why ? Nevertheless, the young lady handled this particular gentleman in a very professional manner as mentioned. I find it hard not to visit Folegandros when in Greece again and other than we fell in love with the island, we fell in love with ANEMI. After covering most of the island and dropping into other accomodation, I would recommend ANEMI hands down. Thank you ANEMI, pretty sure you set the bar for other accommodation in Greece which sometimes can be in great need for improvement. Lastly, the properties is well maintained throughout.

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of September during our honeymoon. It is a very nice hotel. The huge saltwater infinity pool is second to none. You can see the Mediterranean and the port from some of the rooms and from the pool area bar. It is hard for me to judge how "busy" the hotel feels because there were only about 5 rooms occupied by our last day because the hotel closes October 1. The room was nice and tidy and modern. If you are looking for a room that has white-washed walls and a typical "tourist Greek" feel, you are not going to find that here. Close to the port and ATV rental place. We rented an ATV and drove up the steep windy roads to Chora and the rest of the island. If you are looking for a luxury stay (by Folegandros standards) this is the place for you. I am sure there are cheaper, cozy, quaint places to stay within the other parts of the island. If that is what you are looking for, do not choose this hotel. Breakfast was nice although smaller than some other hotels we stayed at on Greek Islands. They bring you a standard breakfast tray and then you have to ask for eggs or anything else. There was a cute little group of kittens playing at the hotel restaurant bar. I had an employee call a boat rental place for us and they did that with a smile.

Magical island, beautiful view and natural scenes. One of the most relaxing places I have ever been with lots of restaurants and kind people. Anemi Hotel is perfect, clean, well serviced, ideally located near some beautiful beaches and Chora. I would definitely recommend to travel to Folegandros
