Please be aware of my experience at Hotel Burchianti in Florence, Italy. I had booked the Panoramic suite for 5 days. It was photographed with a wide-angle lens and was very different than advertised. The best way to describe this room was that is was a very run down suite. For example, the closet door was hanging by one hinge, the fireplace didn't have gas or ability to be wood burning, the TV was barely attached to the wall and cables strewn down the wall, the bed was hard and uncomfortable and had two twins shoved together. So there was a gap in the middle. There was less than 6 inches to manoeuvre around the bed. The walls around the bed were dirty and there were dead bugs mushed into the wall. The safe had a low battery warning, not ideal to put things in it. Within 30 minutes of being in the suite I emailed the manager of my concerns and asked what the cancellation policy was. He said 3 days. So, I emailed him back and said I was cancelling Thursday and Friday. I was later told there was no refund for the week I had paid because I received a discount when I booked directly with the hotel. I'm disputing this with my credit card company as I only stayed 2 nights. It is very important to be able to cancel when a suite is falsely advertised. I want other travellers to be aware of my experience and not to have to go through what I did. Not sure how they have good reviews, can't believe others had a great experience.....
