Shuiyun Yaju River View B&B (Fenghuang Ancient City Branch)

If I could give a 10/5 for service I would! The owner gives instructions on how to reach the hotel, and even recommends the most convenient and cost effective ways to go there. We communicated mostly through WeChat which helped overcome the language barrier. The hotel is located across the river. The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning. It is within walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants and even the pier. The room is clean, well maintained and quite comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended. Although, I would advise to bringing light luggages when you go.

For a competitive price, this stay has an amazing view of a beautiful part of old town and lighted bridges that are still outside of the main parts of town. The bed was great, there was water and airconditioning (however, no coffee and tea), and the owner would go to lengths to help out visitors. For instance, the owner personally walked me to a nice spot for breakfast. However, there are some clear shortcomings with the room that do not take away from what the room is, but might be dealbreakers to people visiting. First of all, as a B&B I did expect a breakfast service. It was nice of the owner to recommend me breakfast in the town because it is cheaper than the breakfast he can order for me, but it was disappointing that a B&B has no options for a breakfast made in-house. Since it was for an additional fee, it did not matter that much to me, but breakfast as part of your stay is not a given. Furthermore, the room. I had the budget room, so this might be unique to that room, but the walls are very thin and I was able to hear the people outside and upstairs (and if I can hear them, they can hear me). In the off-season especially, noise is rare and this was not a huge deal, but noises were so clear that I was not always sure of my privacy. Lastly, the room had a shower in the bathroom not separated from the toilet, with a rain shower. This got me excited, but the water pressure seemed too low to use it, and the shower was underwhelming. Note that these are nitpicks, since the stay was very pleasant. I think for the beautiful view alone, this stay is perfect especially for couples. So, I would recommend this stay to anyone, just be adviced for some of the things mentioned here!

The hotel is ideally located in Fenghuang ancient town, in a quiet area. The room is spacious, but not very clean and could benefit from a renovation (for example, the bath encasing has some broken parts). The view from the balcony is awesome, but the deck chairs and the porch swing are decrepit. Last, in the room and on rhetorical balcony there were quite a few (big) spiders. Beware, if you’re afraid of them.

The hotel is located at the downstream with good scenic river view. It's more quiet and within the walking distance to the attractions. The staff are very helpful to meet at the drop off site to guide to the hotel. Overall very happy with this booking.

A warm and caring stay — highly recommended! From the moment I arrived, the experience was seamless and kind. The manager had even shared directions with my taxi driver to help me find the hotel more easily, and someone came to pick me up right at the entrance of the city — such a thoughtful touch! The hotel is well located, and my room was spacious — a little worn, but very comfortable with a nice view. What truly made the difference was the manager’s exceptional kindness. He helped me plan my itinerary, assisted me in booking my bus ticket, and even drove me to the station himself. He waited with me until the bus arrived — such generosity is rare and truly appreciated. A heartfelt thank you! I highly recommend this place for its comfort and genuine hospitality.

The room is really nice, big and comfortable. The view is wonderful (see the picture). The staff is kind and helpful.
