Fawsley Hall Hotel

We booked a mid-week spa break. The location is idylic, the building and facilities are in great condition, the spa is laid out well, and the treatment was of high quality. I'm not giving it a 5 star review for a number of reasons: 1) We weren't advised in advance that we should book a lunch table in the spa. As they had no vacancy on the day, we had to get changed to go to the main hotel bar for lunch, which was a nuisance. They should have an idea of the numbers coming for the day. 2) It wasn't clear from the hotel website that the spa facilities are open to all residents. As a result, the pool area was busy, especially when a group of kids came in in the afternoon, creating a lot of noise (they were part of the wedding party). 3) The lunch service in the hotel bar was very poor. They had enough staff but they were concentrating on a big group in another area of the bar, and those of us in the side dining room were almost forgotten. 4) The food was well presented but we've had better. I'd still recommend going, but go early in the week, and don't bother with a spa day...unless you want a treatment.

Fabulous stay at Fawsley Hall. Have stayed here previously and this time did not disappoint again. Room was amazing, as were all the staff, all so efficient and nothing is too much trouble. Thoroughly recommend a visit to the spa, love all the different spa rooms, especially the outside jacuzzi - Fabulous in the sunshine. First time having a treatment - again Thoroughly recommend, a real treat. Hopefully will be back soon

I stayed last Saturday/Sunday nights for my dad’s wedding and it was just wonderful! The most amazing breakfast, dinner, and service on such a lovely weekend. The spa was a great addition too! All of the staff were a delight and so helpful, but a special thank you to a member of your front of house team called Amie, (or Aime - the spelling has escaped my mind but I can’t not mention her) who made us feel so special on such a big day for my Dad and Step-Mum. She was lovely not just on the Saturday night in the bar, but in Knightly Court on the Sunday she was very happy to have a lovely chat, a very kind individual, whilst always being on the ball with the tasks at hand. Thank you! Not only this, but the venue is just marvellous. Gorgeous interior and exterior. Would highly recommend! Martha

This hotel was a welcome weekend break The service was excellent throughout. The food and service in the Cedar restaurant was superb. It was a culinary delight. The building itself is amazing medieval looking with character everywhere. The cherry on top this time of year was the Christmas decorations. There were Christmas trees at every turn and in every corner. The huge tree in the Great Hall being the most outstanding. The hotel is deep in real countryside so we had a very peaceful nights sleep too.

Grounds and building lovely, staff attentive. However afternoon tea was very expensive for what you got. Scones were lovely, pastries ok Sandwiches basic and lacking anything special. Judging by the price , I expected great sandwiches. 2 of our ham sandwiches had a slither of ham in. Could barely see it! Bread was basic and nothing special. Totally over priced. ! Would have expected a savoury element- crisps or sausage roll. Also no salad or anything like that on the side. The services charge we had removed It was expensive enough! Cost us over £300 for 6 afternoon teas and a bottle of Prosecco. Been to a lot of afternoon teas and sorry this comes in last for value !

Slightly disappointing afternoon tea experience. Attended afternoon with my family for a 80th birthday celebration. Afternoon tea is held in the Tudor Lounge/Hall which is a unique and beautiful setting. The afternoon tea itself, was slightly underwhelming, 4 finger sandwiches, scones and some pastries. For the weekend price of £42.50pp, I would have expected another savoury element, such as a croustade. I had made a point of stating this was for a birthday celebration and at the end of the session they bought out a small pastry with a message on the plate, but no other mention or effort was made from being seated to identify whose birthday it was. Whilst service was polite, it was minimal, i.e., a drinks ordered was taken and the platters were placed on the table, yet a 12.5% service charge was added to the end bill. I always tip, but with the increased weekend price and the minimal service delivered, I feel the tip should be discretionary. This is clearly a lovely location and there are many wonderful reviews from people who have stayed there, but I do think they can do a little better in this area.
