I was very happy with the hotel. Our room had been recently decorated, as had all of the main areas of the hotel, giving a nice airy feel. We upgraded to a superior sea view room and I must say it was very special. The room was enormous and had a panoramic view of the sea from the big bay windows. The breakfast had both hot and cold offerings and were plentiful There were a few issues though that kept my score pegged back. Firstly, we were awoken on the second night at 4am by the fire alarm and after making our way down to the reception they told us it was a false alarm. It was handled apologetically, but did disrupt us. The shower in our room needed a deft touch to get the temperature bearable but by the second or third time I had discovered the knack, the bath was easily manageable though. Finally and the one thing that really had me worried was a scam WhatsApp message I received shortly after I had booked the stay. It suggested that the payment had not gone through and I should follow the link and make an additional payment. Thankfully I double checked my statement and queried the validity of the message before complying. Best western hotels replied and quickly confirmed my suspicion. But obviously the perpetrator had somehow got hold of my personal details from the booking system. In conclusion. The hotel is in a fantastic area and is god value if you can ignore the niggles. But the ID theft was very concerning.
