Nach dem Check-in gingen wir mit unserer einen Zimmerkarte ins Zimmer. Dieses überzeugte vor allem durch die große Garderobe und das bequeme Bett. Danach entschieden wir uns, direkt zum Pool im Garten des Hotels zu gehen. Auf den Bildern sah der irgendwie größer aus, doch das allein wäre kein Problem gewesen. Dank der Hitze waren der Pool und der Bereich um den Pool hoch frequentiert. Freie Liegen gab es nicht. Sowohl die Dusche als auch die Toiletten am Pool waren sehr dreckig und auch das Wasser des Pools lud nicht unbedingt zum Baden ein. Eine Aufsicht oder gar Reinigungskraft am Pool wäre mehr als nötig gewesen. Uns gefiel das so überhaupt nicht. Eigentlich hatten wir das Hotel unter anderem wegen des Pool gebucht. Na ja, dann eben nicht. Dafür hatten wir einen schönen Abend in der Altstadt von Breda. Zurück im Hotel wollten wir duschen und dann schlafen gehen. Doch außer Body-Lotion und zwei Seife-Stückchen lagen keine Hygiene-Produkte im Zimmer. Also wuschen wir uns wie früher mit Seife. Am nächsten Morgen wollten wir unsere Wertsachen in den Safe legen. Wie sich herausstellte war dieser jedoch defekt. Die nette Dame an der Rezeption teilte mir mit, dass eine Reparatur des Safes kurzfristig nicht möglich sei. Eine Alternative zur sicheren Verwahrung unserer Wertgegenstände bot sie uns nicht an. Immerhin bekam ich auf Anfrage jeweils eine kleine Packung Schampoo und Konditioner - Duschgel gab's nicht. Obwohl wir zwei Nächte im Hotel verbrachten, wurde der Mangel an Duschgel auch nicht beseitigt. Zusammenfassend ist der Service daher für uns definitiv verbesserungswürdig. Einzig der Service im Frühstücks-Restaurant und die Regelung, dass man vorab ein Zeitfenster für das Frühstück buchen musste gefielen uns. Der nette Einweiser/ Kellner war sehr zuvorkommend und informierte uns, wo sich im Außenbereich Besteck und Servierten befinden. Wenn ich so darüber nachdenke, frage ich mich aber, warum bei einem 4-Sterne-Hotel ich mir den Tisch selbst eindecken muss? Die Lage des Hotels ist optimal für einen Städtetrip aber auch für einen Ausflug ans Meer. Wir waren am Samstag am Strand in Domburg, welcher nur eine Stunde mit dem Auto entfernt war.

The hotel is located in a beautifully renovated building in the center of Breda. Stylish with many authentic elements but with a modern twist. If you come by car, you can choose the Valet service or park your car in the practically nearby parking De Barones yourself. The parking garage has several charging stations for electric cars. We arrived at the restaurant side of the hotel looking for the entrance. An attentive employee saw us and asked if we were looking for the hotel. He took over our suitcase and escorted us to the front desk to check-in. See, now that's hospitality. The ladies at the front desk were also very friendly and welcomed me as a Platinum member with a nice room upgrade. My room on the 5th floor was very spacious — lovely big bed, separate toilet, spacious bathroom with separate bath and walk-in shower. Besides a bottle of Holy water, there is also a Nespresso machine for a cup of coffee. Too bad the bar was closed in the evening, and we had to go out for drinks. They served breakfast in the former chapel. Found that space is somewhat claustrophobic as you are locked in and can't see outside.

Nice hotel close to the centre of Breda. 15 minutes walk from the train station through the park. 5 minutes walk from the Grote Markt and numerous bars, restaurants and shopping. The room was of a good size and the super kingsize bed was very comfortable however the pillows were soft. We had a superior room on the 4th floor at the back of the hotel so the room was very quiet and looked over some lowrise apatrtments. The bathroom was a good size with a bathtub and shower. The water was always hot. We didn't eat in the hotel but we used the bar a few times. It was reasonably priced compared to the bars in the centre of town. All the staff we met were friendly, professional and courteous. We would stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to friends and family.

Nice new hotel (open from march 2024), modern equipped clean rooms and frendly (young) personnel, good food. Situated almost in the city centre of Breda (15 minutes walk through the trainstation and city park) and besides the train and bus station. It's easy to park your car next door at the P&R parkinglot on top of the trainstation. Very nice location for a city visit.

Das Zimmer ist sehr groß, sehr groß, sauber und sauber, das Restaurant ist auch sehr lecker.

Dies ist ein perfekter Ort, um Ihren Kopf auszuruhen. Die Betten sind groß und gemütlich, das Frühstück ist einfach, aber sehr gesund und lecker. Das einzige , was diesen Ort auszeichnet , ist das Personal , alle sind freundlich , hilfsbereit und wenn Sie eine Frage haben , werden sie Ihnen helfen . Ich empfehle, wenn Sie nach einer Unterkunft in dieser Gegend suchen, versuchen Sie es zuerst hier 👍🏻

Es war unser 2 Besuch in Gilze und unser 6 Besuch in einem Van der Valk Hotel. Ich habe die App, reserviere immer darüber und kann dann auch gleich bezahlen. Somit geht es beim Einquecken sehr schnell und unbürokratisch. Da die Preise im Vergleich zum letzten Jahr doch ziemlich angezogen haben, haben wir für eine Nacht nur das billigste Zimmer genommen. Immer noch von guter Qualität. Betten waren sehr gut. Schönes Badezimmer mit Regendusche. Nepsressemaschine, Balkon. Gilze ist auch das bisher uns einzige bekannte Hotel Van der Valk, wo man die Zimmer vor 15 Uhr beziehen kann. Die anderen lassen einem immer warten. Somit waren wir um 14 Uhr im Restaurant und bestellten einen feinen Lunch. Die Auswahl ist gut und die Portionen sind nicht zu gross. Wir hatten einen Herrn im Service der Nett und freundlich war. Für das Nachtessen hatten wir bereits bei der Buchung des Zimmers einen Tisch reserviert. Leider setzte man uns in den dunkelsten Bereich. Das war etwas Schade. Bedient wurden wir von der gleichen Person wie am Mittag, der uns auch sofort den gleichen Wein brachte wie am Mittag. Das Essen ist gut, die Weinauswahl auch. Wir bestellten noch eine Flasche Wein um mit aufs Zimmer zu nehmen. Gekühlt mit 2 Gläsern. Sicher nicht Topp aber immer wieder gut.

We have chosen the hotel because of its location close to Rotterdam and the motorway. We had some work to do, so decided to take a Skyline Suite, so we had some space to sit and work. Regrettably the suites are made for a romantic outing. Being on the 13th floor there is no worry that somebody looks into the room. The hotel also takes an extra € 150 as bond, in case you make a mess of the room. There is a separate toilet. The bathroom area is huge. Two wash basins and lot of space, regrettably there were no glasses available. We used the carton coffee cups to drink from. A huge batch in an open area, which was not used. An open room again with 2 showers and ‘rainforest’ shower heads in the ceiling. The water pressure was not high enough to really make them work. Also no towel rails or towels provided in that room. So - unless you were prepared - you had to walk into the space with the bath in , to get towels. Only 2 towels are provided, large enough to wrap a child in… but not big enough for an adult. The quality was inferior and not nice big and fluffy for a room with so many water features. Again only 2 larger towels so if you wanted a bath and a shower, you had to use a wettish towel for the second use. No table where you could use a room service meal , nor decent chairs. No desk either, instead a make table with a big mirror. Two lounge chairs, where you can only lie in, next to the bed where you can lie in. The bed is big, but the mattress did not fit the bed! On both sides you had 15 cms space. The room has a coffee machine, with 4 coffee pods. So you’d better not be a coffee drinker. A small fridge is also present, with 2 small bottles of water, so no min bar!! For a room which costs over € 300 this can be used as a nice romantic getaway with your secret friend … but bring your own ice box, towels and coffee!!

Sehr gutes Business-Hotel, dass sich aber auch für ein Wochenende-Trip mit Freunden sehr gut eignet. Sauber und große Zimmer, sehr ruhig trotzt der Lage mitten im Zentrum. Überhaupt ist die Lage perfekt. Zugang über das daneben liegende Parkhaus. Sehr gutes und umfangreiches Frühstück.
