We've just got home from a week at the Corfu Palmar, our first trip to any of the Greek islands, and without a doubt we will come back again. Costas, Evie, Spiros, Hope, Demi and all other staff were amazingly friendly, and the hotel was perfect for us. I cannot fault their attention to guests at all, in fact, they treat you just like part of their family. The only warning would be that you can at times get trapped in the bar enjoying a chat with Costas a few other guests and next thing you know it's 3am :D I don't think I've ever been to a hotel bar that's been so friendly and fun to be at. Some reviews complain about hard beds, but that suited us fine really, they were comfortable and everything was clean. We had a swim up poolside apartment (room 401) which was really nice to have a quiet swim if needed, and the main pool was really nice to use too, but as you'd expect it'll be a bit more busy (towel droppers start at 7:30am/8:00am to reserve beds, and there's only about 20 of them, so get in quick and sit and wait for breakfast to start!). Our room was well catered for, shower/bathroom/toilet was great. A small but very cold fridge for water/a few beers/chocs, a safe and key for your passports/documents etc, air-conditioning which was a must (and to be honest, yes there's an additional cost for the AC, but it's worth it when it's 31c+ in the day and 25c+ over night). Bedding and towels were changed 3 or 4 times during our 7 night stay which was awesome, and a cleaner comes in every day to clean/empty bins (remember, this is Greece, and toilet roll goes in a bin, not down the toilet!) and makes beds etc, which was a very welcome service and wasn't intrusive. We met quite a few locals through Costas who were really very nice and we're keeping in touch with (Peter and Dorothy who have recently moved to the area were wonderful to us, and we can't wait to see them again) as well as a good few friendly guests who were there as well. There is a lot of banter such as football teams, or music, and there's always someone to engage with. It felt like being sat in my local pub it was that nice. The hotel does a few "BBQ nights" of which can be Greek dancing (which was brilliant fun and lively), or live bands (the one we saw were really very good playing 80's, 90's 00's covers), along with great food which was very tasty, and varied. Breakfast includes a "full English", which I had every day (nom!) and pastries, breads etc. There's no though, but maybe a toaster will come! They are very very keen to provide breakfasts/lunches/dinners that people will want to eat, and that really does show with the fact they offer English sausages, back bacon, tinned plumb tomatoes, and Heinz baked beans, scrambled eggs etc. Lunch menu items like salads and club sandwiches were very very good, and a plate of fries as a simple snack were also very nice too! Within 10 minutes walk are many good places to eat, watch sports, have beers/cocktails, visit Sidari b
