Hotel Nostos

This hotel is lovely, the pictures do not do it justice, should be at least a 4 star for the way they look after you. Hotel is spotless and so is the pool area, could not believe the pool is 20yrs. old it looks like new. Niki and her husband are super hosts, she arranged a taxi for us, to a greek festival in the next village a brilliant night and she also arranged car hire, delivered to the Hotel, nothing was to much trouble for her. The hotel is quite, plenty of room by the pool, with a bar and snacks around the pool. The lovely village of Frikes just down the road with some lovely restaurants. Ithaca is special, unspoilt from mass tourism, easy to drive around and the people lovely. Just hope it stays that way. The Island and Nostos have spoilt us really! where do we go from here?, more than likely return. Love it.

Superb family-run hotel in a friendly village centred around the small harbour of Frikes in beautiful Ithaca. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the large and beautifully maintained pool and surroundings great for spending hours in the sun doing nothing. Delicious light meals from the poolside bar. Nicki the manager made us very welcome, and was brilliant at organising our transfers, stepping in and arranging and rearranging taxis and sea taxis when our flight was delayed and we arrived too late for the ferry crossing from Kefalonia. This was our second stay and we certainly hope to return.

Very pretty boutique hotel - lovely family run hotel - bedrooms are large and cleaned to a very high standard. Swimming pool area is lovely and quiet. No need to get up early to claim sun beds - plenty to go around no matter what time of day you get up. Breakfast is good; continental with the option to purchase hot breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Superb! A great place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and well serviced. There is air conditioning, ceiling fan and a safe. Hilari loved the lift, which would not have looked out of place in a big city establishment! Nikki and Andreas were wonderful hosts, happy to arrange taxis etc. We were even supplied with a packed lunch for our early start to our journey home. We do not understand how this hotel is rated so low; it has a great balance of friendliness and quality. Thanks Nikki, from Hilari and Steve

Fantastic Hotel the owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. The rooms were very clean, all staff very friendly. The pool and surrounding area was well kept. Ithaca is simply a lovely island and I am sure we would venture back at sometime? The restaurants were extremely good and we had several long walks.

This was out third visit to the Nostos Hotel, always towards the end of the season when it is quieter, but standards remain high. Nicki and her husband have built up the hotel and run it like clockwork. Everywhere is clean and fresh, breakfast is good, and the large pool is very well maintained. I think that this may be the only pool on Ithaca. Nicki is so helpful, making all the local travel arrangements, car hire, etc., and she kindly makes us packed food to take on the early starts to the ferry.. We can so recommend a visit to the Nostos for a quiet, simple, and rejuvenating break on a beautiful Greek island; to enjoy sunshine, the sea, and good food at the abundant restaurants.

First time in Ithaca and we were fortunate to stay in this wonderful family-run small hotel in Frikes for 4 nights. Nicky and family made us feel very welcome and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was unique. Listed as a 2 star - not sure why as it it at least 3. Pool is fab and the breakfasts are superb. Rooms have a fridge and very comfortable. We left for an early boat and was sent away with a packed breakfast. Frikes is a lovely small port with great restaurants. Wonderful family-run hotel in an idyllic location a stone's throw from the sea. Ithaca is a stunning island and Hotel Nostos is the perfect base. We stayed in a large, comfortable room with air con, WiFi, hot shower, TV, fridge and a great view towards Frikes harbour. Generous breakfast, lovely pool and bar. Nicki's food is fab - highly recommend the Greek starter dishes - the stuffed peppers, feta in filo, and fried cheese we're super tasty - and the beers are cold and the wine delicious. Transfers and taxis around the island are all arranged, and at reasonable prices. A special, quiet and relaxing holiday all round. Wish we'd booked for longer.

We've just returned from a wonderful, relaxing two week stay at the lovely Nostos Hotel. We feel like we hit the jackpot! The hotel is everything we wanted - small, unpretentious and welcoming - and Frikes was a brilliant location too, with a choice of pretty beaches, a really good choice of tavernas on our doorstep and lovely local walks to explore. We chose to not hire a car but used the local taxi firm, recommended by Nicky, and the bus to get further afield. We really enjoyed a walk/swim to Kioni one day and, also took a taxi to the monastery above Exogi before slowly meandering down via Exogi, the Homer School and Stavros to the hotel. Stunning views! We were also really lucky to time our stay with the festivals at Stavros and Frikes. Nicky and her team work very hard and do an amazing job - the whole hotel is really clean and the pool was lovely. We loved winding down there, surrounded by the trees, listening to the goats and watching the swallows. The food available at lunchtime was great too. Nicky is a real problem solver and when there were issues with one of our transfers she leapt in to help us. Many thanks for our brilliant holiday.
