Der beeindruckende Wegansatz und das Bauen selbst haben das, was in sich lag, gelogen. Der Empfangsbereich ist dumm und unweltgefällig. Der Spaziergang zum Zimmer (9) wurde von einem duftenden Geruch begleitet, der einem alten Aschendraht ähnlich war. Wir hätten in einem Doppelzimmer gebucht, aber in einem Familienzimmer. Die Dekoration war 'interessant' - manche könnten es heiß oder charakteristisch nennen, ich würde es ungeschickt und vernachlässigt. Die Handtücher, während sehr sauber und weiß, waren alle Dampf und mussten auf dem heißen Handtücher Rack (die dankbar funktionierte) getrocknet werden. Die Bilder zeigen Oberflächen, verfärbt und beschädigte Bett, Schrauben an Bord, Form im Dusche zusammen mit einem abziehenden Blind, der wuchs es eigene Lebensform. Teppiche überall waren alt, verfärbt und sah so alt wie das Haus. Und dann gab es Frühstück; Pilze in Öl waschen, Teppide, ein hartes Stück Bacon, ein Teilkochsaß und ein gebackenes Ei, das einen feinen Eindruck von einem hart kochenden Ei gemacht hat. Wir hätten zwei Nächte gebucht, aber nach einer gelassen, als wir den Ort für unsere Gesundheit gefühlt hatten. Einfach schreckliche Einrichtung in jeder Hinsicht.

Wow, what an amazing day. So lucky to have been able to have our Wedding hosted by Poets House. We couldn’t have asked for more. Christine, Sara and all the team were fabulous. The service we received from all the staff was friendly, informative and helpful. At no point did it feel like it was too much trouble. The food was delicious, a number of our guests commented that it was the best wedding meal they have ever had. We cannot thank Poets House for helping to make our day the best. We were looking for a quite 4 day getaway from London during the holiday season and were very happy with this hotel. Firstly, the location: surrounded by vast gardens, open spaces and located just off the A142, we could not have asked for a better place to completely re-energise and cutoff. The hotel itself was impeccable and tastefully decorated giving a warm, cozy and relaxing vibe. The reception also had an interesting collection of board games and books for our perusal near the fireplace. We were very happy with the size of the room (Octagon) and the amenities inside which included a nespresso coffee maker, a hot water bag and high end toiletries. We were warmly welcomed with a delicious complimentary carrot cake and tea and the staff were extremely courteous to make our stay comfortable. Although the food and drinks were good, the options were limited to a set menu: we had to order only grazing boards for dinner and the restaurant was closed for an event (which we understand is quite frequent given its known to be a wedding venue) in one of the days. This is something you should keep in mind given the hotel is not walking distance from Ely city.

Visited for 3 nights at the end of June. Bedroom was reasonably spacious and the bathroom was modern and well appointed with a good shower. The main problem was the room was too hot. The hotel provided a fan, which we had running all night, which probably helped a little, but the main problem was the design of the building, which soaked up the warmth of the sun. First floor rooms may be slightly cooler than those on the top floor. Breakfasts were good, although we kept having to ask for sugar and butter, which, for some reason, was not supplied on the breakfast table.

Hotel nur 5 Minuten zu Fuß von der Kathedrale so im Zentrum der Stadt. Schönes Hotel.zimmer kürzlich dekoriert und hatte Eisen, Safe.Haartrockner und Kaffeemaschine Einrichtungen. Personal sehr freundlich. Wir blieben 2 Tage und hatten dort Abendessen beide Tage. Waiterin,Tiffany, macht einen sehr guten Prawn cocktail.und war sehr freundlich und hilfreich. Die Kochen blauen Steak wurde richtig kocht, es war schön, jemanden zu finden, der wusste, wie ein Blauesteak kochen. Über alle sehr schöne Erfahrung

We loved our stay here despite some initial concerns beforehand. It turned out to be an excellent experience. Car parking was easy, the room (3) was large and beautifully presented and the bed was very comfortable. The view along the river is attractive. The bathroom is large and there is lots of space around the sink to put various lotions and potions, toothbrushes etc. Everything is beautifully clean and maintained in an excellent condition. The selection of cooked food at the buffet breakfast is a bit more limited than in many places but perfectly aceptable and the quality of the food is excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. The local walks along the river bank are relaxing and it is an easy walk to the city centre and cathedral. We intend to come back next year, and hope that the reasonable prices and high standards are maintained.
