Hotels in der Nähe von Monumento al Pescador, El Cotillo

We stayed with a friend in a private room in a rooftop room. It was very nice, clean, and we had our own terrace! It was mostly quiet. If someone cannot stand noise than dont book this room as 2-3 times a day loud music was coming from the resort nearby (only short time, it was part of thr daily animation for the guests). We were surprised at the beginning but then it became part of our life :) The staff in the hostel is very friendly and easy going, the room was good sized, comfy beds, will be missed!

Kommen wir zuerst zu der positiven Seite. Die Anlage liegt sehr gut und zentral in Corralejo. Sowohl Supermärkte als auch die Hauptbushaltestelle ist direkt um die Ecke bzw. gegenüber. Auch wenn man einen Mietwagen hat, stehen gegenüber mehr als genügend Parkplätze zur Verfügung. Die Lage ist also als wirklich gut zu bezeichnen. Auch die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption sind sehr freundlich und bemüht, vorhandene Missstände zu beseitigen und den Gästen zu helfen. Jetzt kommt leider die negative Seite: Obwohl erst einige Jahre alt, zeigen die Zimmer ( also ich kann natürlich nur für meins sprechen ) schon deutliche Abnutzungserscheinungen. Was aber noch schlimmer ist und quasi ein No-Go, ist die fehlende Sauberkeit. Die Zimmer werden nur 1x die Woche gereinigt, auch Handtuchwechsel erfolgt einmal die Woche. Besonders das Badezimmer scheint jedoch sehr anfällig zu sein für Feuchtigkeit trotz Abzugshaube ( siehe Bilder ). Der Schimmel ist an mehreren Stellen deutlich zu sehen. Auch ein schimmliger Föhn müsste der Reinigungskraft eigentlich auffallen, wenn sie ihren Job richtig macht. Die Anlage besteht aus 5 Gebäuden, von denen 2 privat vermietet sind. Auch das Nachbarhotel ist teilweise baugleich. Ich vermute das der Umbau zu ”Hotels” oder ”Appartements” nachträglich erfolgte. Die Wände sind sehr dünn und das Haus ist sehr hellhörig. Von Schlafzimmer zu Schlafzimmer versteht man jedes Wort und hört jeden leichten Husten. Auch die Tür zum Flur ist alles andere als gedämmt. Bei mir gegenüber wurde an einem Abend mit viel Knoblauch gekocht, danach roch auch mein Zimmer komplett danach weil alles durchweht. Abgesehen davon gab es bei mir auch noch zwei technische Probleme, die aber mit Hilfe der freundlichen Damen an der Rezeption gelöst werden konnten. Auch die Fenster sind im geschlossenen Zustand leider nicht dicht, so dass man schonmal um 7 Uhr am Morgen von Kindern auf dem Spielplatz des Nachbarhotels geweckt wird. Ich kann nur empfehlen die Reinigung, gerade des Badezimmers, zu intensivieren und den Dunstabzug zu überprüfen. Sonst kann das sehr bald ausgetauscht werden.

Perfekt für einen kurzen Aufenthalt !

Ein kleines und feines Hotel. Nur mit Frühstück, kein Restaurant für abends. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichlich und abwechselnd. Das Personal füllt ständig nach und ist auch insgesamt sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und die Straße war nicht zu hören (wir hatten Innenseite!) Die Terrasse geht vom Zimmer dann in einen gemeinsamen Platz über, es ist also nachbarschaftliche Rücksichtnahme angesagt (die meisten Zimmer haben einen abgetrennten Balkon). Durch die Lage direkt am Ortseingang sind es einige Gehminuten bis zum Zentrum (30-40). Stört nicht und ist wie beschrieben, sollte man nur vorher wissen. Insgesamt ein sehr zufrieden!

We had the most amazing two week break at Palmeras Gardens. Please don’t be put off by negative reviews. The hotel was around a 30 minute walk into Playa Blanca central. We went along the seafront which made for a lovely walk. Alternatively A taxi costs €5 and the bus €1.40 per journey, and they run every 30 mins and stop on the main road just above the complex. We used this most days as it’s so quick and convenient. You are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the centre but still plenty of things close by. Onsite bar and supermarket. Around 4/5 restaurants a 2 minute walk away. Around 15 minute to Flamingo Beach with more restaurants and supermarkets and the same the opposite way to Pechiguera again with more restaurants and supermarkets. We stayed in a superior bungalow and we couldn’t fault it. It was clean and spacious and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Although other bungalows close by we never heard another person. No noise from the pool area either. You could even see the sea from the terrace. We were there for 2 weeks and the room was cleaned 12 out of the 14 days. We knew when we booked that it was extra for the air conditioning and safety key. I don’t understand the people who moaned about not knowing as it’s clearly stated on the website. The reception offers a premium pack which is the air conditioning, premium WiFi and safe. They do a package for 1/7/10/14/21/30 days. Well worth the money and a great saving. Deposit required but you get this back. Reception staff were so friendly and helpful, literally couldn’t do enough for you. A few times we asked for more toilet roll etc and it was delivered right away. Also happy to help you book excursions and offer local information. Pool area was clean and tidy and despite going in July/August we never had any issues getting a bed or umbrella. Reception offers mattress rental for beds but I don’t think it’s worth it. You can rent pool towels which we did for just a €10 deposit. If you want to change them during the holiday it’s €1 per towel. Pool bar opens from 11am. A good choice of drinks and snacks and ice creams and you can order from the full bar menu. Good value for money. Bar arena was just down the steps and we couldn’t fault it. Service was second to none and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was really tasty and I’d highly recommend the fish and chips and pizza. If you are looking for a nice beach then flamingo beach is the best. Easy to access, a great place to swim and take little ones in the water as it’s a bay. A sandy beach. Plenty of places to park up for the day. Stuff was safe to be left when we went in the water as it’s family friendly. Even rented a paddle board one day which was fun and good value for money (€15 for an hour or €20 for 2) If you are looking for a quiet getaway then this is the place for it. We would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.
