Initially having high expectations, particularly for a flagship hotel, I found the check-in process to be tardy, albeit within the hotel's policy, which was acceptable. However, the service felt rather affected, with the receptionist conveying a sense of condescension as if merely engaging with guests was a favor. This unfavorable impression persisted upon entering the room, where numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues were immediately apparent. The floors were soiled, strewn with remnants from previous occupants, and notably lacking in vacuuming. Furthermore, pervasive dust accumulation was evident throughout the room. Adding to the disappointment were malfunctioning light switches and an inoperative sliding door, alongside a noticeably deteriorated room safe with non-functional buttons. When I brought these concerns to the attention of the receptionist, the dismissive response, "What do you want me to do about it? I can send someone now, otherwise I will forget about it," underscored the hotel's disregard for cleaning and maintenance standards expected of a flagship establishment, and fell short of the elevated customer service one would anticipate from a allegedly upscale hotel. Despite these shortcomings, the redeeming aspect of my stay was the commendable quality of the food served during breakfast and dinner. The cuisine was of a notably high standard, with a diverse and appealing selection. Additionally, the waitstaff exhibited exceptional graciousness and attentiveness. In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel, particularly given the exorbitant price point.
