The Niche

This must be up there with the very best B&Bs in the country - in fact calling it a B&B doesn't do it justice! The room was so clean, comfortable and luxurious and the guest lounge is gorgeous - a perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine and a book. Brilliant for dogs, fantastic breakfasts and just somewhere that makes you feel completely spoilt. Of course all this is down to the hosts - not just lovely people but clearly so hard-working and accomplished at hospitality to get this place so right. Great location too, with good pubs and countryside in easy walking distance.

Unbelievable! This is an incredible property full of warmth and special touches. Upon arriving, we were greeted by Ed, who welcomed us so warmly. We were exhausted and immediately took refuge in the comforting surroundings! Extremely clean, comfortable bed, and large en-suite bathroom. In the morning, Ed treated us to a delicious breakfast, with views of his gorgeous garden. Any type of breakfast you require- he has! We throughly enjoyed our stay. Don't miss the opportunity if you're able to stay here!

Had a lovely stay at The Niche. Rob was very welcoming and expert local knowledge. Great location just a few minutes walk from the South Downs and 2 local pubs. Room was very clean and well maintained. Lots of extras included. Excellent breakfast too.

We chose this place because of its location and were so glad we did. It was within walking distance of my mother-in-law's care home and a good restaurant. The owners are ever so friendly. The bedroom had a bed large enough for my 6'5" husband and there was a friendly lounge. Quirky decorations everywhere. Breakfast was great. I am celiac and that was no problem for them - smoked salmon and eggs! One bedroom is larger than the other but we chose the one with a bit of a patio, so it rained the whole time. We will be back.

Ed and Rob are amazing hosts with a beautiful place to stay. Ed has thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable and special. It was a birthday treat and they left a card and a cupcake! The room is fabulous and the enormous bathroom awesome with the deepest bath I’ve every been in. The toiletries were Milton Brown standard with fluffy towels and robes. The sherry with gorgeous red glass sherry glasses and bowl of chocolates. I usually struggle to sleep away from home but the mattress was perfect, the sheets heavenly cotton and it was so quiet. The heat was adjustable and the room dark so I slept like a log. The breakfast was to die for with smashed advocado and perfectly cooked poached eggs plus cereal, warm croissants, eggs from chickens in the garden and home made jams. Two lovely pooches walking around which might not suit everyone. Think staying in summer with the doors open would be even nicer. Hosts were perfect mix of friendly without being in your face. Close to beaches and towns with a great pub in the village a short walk away and with views of the Downs. Really relaxing weekend that was just what we needed. Thanks so much Ed and Rob - we will be back!

What an absolutely splendid place. Our hosts, Ed and Rob were great. Really friendly and such attention to detail. From the great welcome, room excellently decorated and bathroom too. The little touches were so thoughtful too, from chocolates, to sherry and our named breakfast menu to choose from. Plenty of space, milk and water in mini fridge, kettle and beverage choices too. Lovely bathroom with gel and bath bubbles and really good quality towels too. Bed was really comfortable too. Ed was thoughtful about dietary requirements and could adapt to whatever you needed. Really hearty breakfast and nice to chat if you wanted and their two dogs were so well behaved. Really felt like being home from home. What a perfect place, run brilliantly. Also, 2 pubs in easy walking distance that do food and a Thai restaurant too. What’s not to like? Would highly recommend. This is a gem of a find.
