Spruce Lane Lodge and Cottages

These are lovely cottages! They’re set back from the main road so it’s quiet, but handy to get to many fun locations. It’s nice to have such a big room to come back to, and there is always a light on right by your door. Each cottage has a private feel and you can park right in front. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was good. We have stayed here over many years and always feel safe and provided for. We enjoy that there’s a table with two chairs, along with an upholstered chair. The small refrigerator is great to have too. The price, location and charm make Spruce Lane Lodge and Cottages a place we will enjoy coming back to many times!

Ok so we had a late check in and the reservation on phone went working to produce I d . We waited 45 min to get into room . The floors were nice but very old t v And didn’t work well . The blinds were broken couldn’t go up Or down and the sofa bed had no sheets on it and a big yellow stain on mattress ? There is a small airport in the back of place . Overall nice to have a cottage to yourself but they need to do proper maintenance in the property and updating .

We had been going there for yrs under several managers. It’s gone down terribly. Not clean, stripped of it’s quaint features and poorly kept. The ac/heat drowns out even the planes. Bathroom door couldn’t close or lock. Beds were awful. So sad to see this

We used to stay here every summer. We loved loved it. After covid we stayed there in 2022. Awful. No one in the office. No one answering phones. Place was dirty. Furniture broken. I tried to send them a review but they claim they never got it. No way to reach them. What a shame— must be new management. It really was a lovely place. We will never stay there again.

The airport behind the cottages are loud and wake you up too early! The bed was horrible! A hard bump in the middle of the King size bed. The ceiling fan was No curtains! And the place is dated. Had a TUB TV! Never again...would never recommend! Stay away.

We’ve stayed here for about 7 years in a row (except during Covid) while participating in the half marathon. Location is great and they are quaint cottages. However, these cottages are older and each year we’ve stayed they have continued to feel a little less kept up. This year our bathroom didn’t even appear it had been cleaned prior to our arrival. The mattresses are very old and the sheets/quilts didn’t smell the greatest either. And to top it off, when we woke up this morning to prepare for the race, there was absolutely no water! Evidently the entire location had no water. While there were severe storms that went through last night, as of 4:30 am the water was working and that was after the storms. We’ve stayed at the cottages all these years because they are cute and quaint, the price is reasonable and we’ve always enjoyed it; however, after our experience this year, we will be staying somewhere else.

A bit difficult getting our reservation but then it went well. We were able to get our favorite rooms - have been there several times in the past. The faucet in our bathroom was hard to figure out - didn't work correctly but everything else was great. Cottages are off set so you don't hear other guests - plenty of privacy, clean rooms and located near everything we were interested in. The staff was very accommodating and the air conditioner was very quiet. Plan to go back again .

We checked in after a long day at the amusement park and had to head right out to dinner. When we returned it was late and I noticed ants - with small children that needed to go to sleep, I decided to just handle what I saw and put all of our clothing bags on top of the television stand/dresser and hoped for the best. When we woke up there were enough ants on the outside of our bags that when I moved them to a different surface I was literally transporting hoards of ants with them. More disturbing though was the fact that I was given a piece of a post-it that contained the code for the lockbox with the extra key outside the door - and on the back of the post it was part of another person's DL# and expiration date. This is concerning. The worst part besides the rundown feel of the room (lots of scuff marks and dirt all over - a disturbing brown mark on the ceiling by the sinks, all of the walls, the box springs looked filthy and I didn't dare lift the sheets to look at the actual mattress) and amenities (the tube television had a remote control with a note on it that said you had to manually turn the television on and off - having to get up and down to turn the television off is kind of inconvenient) was that every time we opened our room door, the manager was sitting/standing on the curb at the office and would turn and stare at us like we were being watched the whole time we were there. When I approached him in the morning as I was packing our car to tell him about the ants as he stood there and watched me, I also showed him the back of the post it that he gave me with someone's personal information (he claimed it was his own which is also odd), and as I was walking away I turned back as he was staring at me and I said it was also weird that he was watching us every time we left our room. He continued to sit outside on the curb staring at us each time we walked to and from the room to pack our car, but now getting up to walk away or pretend he wasn't looking, and then when we pulled out of the parking lot he ran from the curb to the front of the office building and appeared to hide as we drove by - visibly "hiding" out in the open on the front of the building that you could see as we drove by - and then as we pulled past he started walking back out to the side where he was normally sitting/standing. Very, very odd and disturbing stay.

I do not recommend! The cottages look super adorable from the outside. If managed and taken care of properly it would be really awesome. Location is perfect! Check-in & Check-out was all by phone. So much for good old fashion hospitality. We didn’t see anyone around. A little creepy actually. The bathroom had mold by the tub, the toilet was dirty, the sink was old and dirty, and the towels didn’t look very clean. Needless to say I did not shower during my stay. The microwave didn’t work and there was no tv in the room. I brought tea to heat up and I couldn’t even use the microwave. Thank goodness for Netflix on my phone as it was super quiet with no TV to watch. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable. The property has so much potential but it’s not being properly taken care of.
