Compass Point Dive Resort

Great laid back place to stay on Grand Cayman. My friend went diving everyday and I used the rental car to see the sights and enjoy time on the beach. I went on the snorkeling trip they offered that combined swimming with the stingrays. It was great. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. the condo was clean and comfortable. We stayed beachfront and it was so relaxing to sit on the balcony. The breakfast was included and it had a good variety of items. I am coming back for sure!!!

On arrival, we were treated as expected guests with easy check-in. It is about a 45 minute drive from the airport. We stayed in a 1 bedroom , 1 bath condo with 2 Murphy beds in the living room. There was a small washer and dryer in a closet. The balcony was a great place to sit and wind down after diving. The on site restaurant, StingRay’s had good lunches, drinks, and dinners and we elected for included breakfasts. We were 3 adults but it seemed a great place for families with a beach and ample lounges. They had bikes and kayaks to borrow, although we did not avail ourselves of these amenities. For guests who are diving, as we were, there is a dock right behind the hotel and they load at 7:45am, with time for breakfast before taking off. There are several good restaurants within a quarter mile of the resort.

This is a gem of a place for people who want to stay out of the seven mile beach madness. If you're diving and want to relax -- this is it. Compass Point is not fancy, but the food is good, the units are clean and well appointed -- view is great. And the diving is incredible. I'm sure we'll return. This is not a great place if you're looking to instagram on the beach, meet singles, have a wild night of drinking. Mostly divers -- and not a big beach.

Did a 1-week dive trip in January and could not have asked for a better experience (booked via PADI Travel). Stayed in a 2-BR ground floor condo, which was well-stocked for cooking (decent grocery store just 5 minutes drive away), comfortable beds,A/C, beach view, salt-water pool/hot tub. The boat dock was probably less than 50 yards away (their slogan is "roll out of bed onto the dive boat"). Boats usually had 10-12 divers, with 2-3 dive masters. The DMs were fabulous - they took care of all the equipment setup, expertly explained and guided the dives, and were very safety-conscious. Also nearby on the East End are some interesting tourist sites, including Crystal Caves and Rum Point. About 45 minutes from the airport (fair warning, be prepared to drive on the left!). Weather was sunny and 80-degrees (F) all week. Water was very warm too (high 70's - not everyone needs a wet suit)

I recently returned from a week at Compass Point diving with Ocean Frontiers and wanted to extend a big thank you to all the staff for their great service and all they did to work with the members of our group. Our stay there was excellent, from start to finish! The condo suites overlooking the ocean were absolutely beautiful and everyone was so nice and welcoming and really took good care of us. What a wonderful and pristine dive resort and retreat with a great group of people! Loved the East End dive sites too, reefs were gorgeous and full of life and we saw so much variety of marine life including reef sharks, wow! We all had a really great trip and would definitely come back again! :)

If you are coming to Grand Cayman to dive, you cannot go wrong staying at Compass Point and diving with Ocean Frontiers. Our accommodations were clean and comfortable. It was wonderful to be able to eat breakfast and walk onto the dive boat in the morning. We enjoy the quieter east end of the island. Staff were responsive and helpful.
