Lawlors Hotel

Paid about €350 for two nights over a weekend. The standard of the hotel does not match the price. We asked to change from the dark and dingy room we were allocated first. We were moved to the front of the hotel on the top floor. This was slightly better. The rooms are in serious need of updating. Probably not touched since the early 90s. The bathroom has been updated to a good standard. The hotel itself is tired, everything is brown or a shade of brown for some reason. The breakfast was poor quality served in a brown outdated backroom. Overall this hotel is not worth the money. It's saving grace is location in the centre of Dungarvan with free parking.

We only stayed for one night on Tuesday they had a fantastic trad group playing. We had dinner which was very good.

Overall stay was very enjoyable. Staff very pleasant & accommodating. Room very clean. Only drawback was that room wasn't serviced on Saturday, our stay day.

I really enjoyed my stay in Lawlors. The hotel is centrally located and close to everything - shops, restaurants, the sea etc. There is private parking behind the hotel which is very convenient. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable with everything you’d need. - a fine bathroom with shower and bath, Comfy beds, tea making facilities, good curtains which keep the room dark, very quiet.

We stayed for one night stay to cycle the waterford green way .The hotel was very out dated and in serious need of upgrade ..we had lunch in bar carvery which was very out dated and lacked appeal or even looked appetising. We were hungry so I ordered some food which in fairness wasn't bad but I have had better carvery food..staff were friendly and helpful .The bedroom was really sad and bed was not great ..the bathroom was nearly as big as bedroom but overall for what we paid for it was absolutely not acceptable. Ok hotel was booked out which at this time of year was understandable .love Dungarvan but will not be returning to hotel. I am sure the owners of the hotel are well aware of this and hopefully they will make drastic upgrade.

A 2 night B&B (plus a 2-course meal on one night) package for two @€299 turned into a very poor experience for us. The check-in experience was fine and friendly but that's where it ended. First night - after a long day travelling and having had an evening meal in a local restaurant we returned to the hotel bar for a nightcap. the hotel lounge bar was not busy but we soon became aware of a slightly raucous party of about 5 males and 2/3 females in one corner and partly hidden from our view. Soon the foul language started with the f and c words used on occasions. We retired to our bedroom after one drink at c. 10.00pm but there was a loud and constant humming type of sound outside our room window that overlooked the rear car park. At midnight and unable to sleep with the continuous noise I got dressed and went down to reception (no phones in bedrooms!). Within minutes of getting to reception I was aware of serious shouting (and many more of the same expletives) coming from the bar area. I knew it was the same people that had been causing a rumpus earlier as there was no one else around at this stage. The receptionist on duty appeared as if she was not long out of school and she became quite alarmed (and maybe frightened) by the distraction coming from the bar while at the same time trying to deal with my complaint. The lady in charge of the bar also came out to reception and seemed at a loss what to do as the party in the bar were seemingly refusing to leave and wanted more drinks and indeed seemed to be on the verge of physical fighting among each other. As there was no night porter on duty or indeed any male employee on the premises as far as I could see, I suggested that the Gardai (police) be called to deal with these people. The receptionist eventually got the hotel manager on the phone at her home and told me that she was returning to the hotel immediately. I waited in my room and later a gentleman arrived (not a manager) and offered to move us to another room stating the noise must be from some other building and that the noise wasn't coming from the hotel. (Next morning it was clear that we were positioned in a room directly over a very large extractor fan attached to the kitchen but clearly hadn't been turned off). By 12.30 am we had repacked and move up two floors to a better room where we eventually went to sleep after unpacking all over again. Next morning the staff in reception were blissfully unaware of the events of the previous night and offered to get a manager to contact me on my mobile. That never happened and we were never spoken to again by any of the management. The remainder of our stay was uneventful and we paid our bill on leaving and most unlikely to ever return.

We had a one night stay here. Very central hotel to Dungarvan town centre. Facilities somewhat dated with carpets etc due a refurbishment but in general the hotel was fine overall. Lovely bathroom which was recently refurbished. Breakfast was served to us rather than buffet and that was very good. we had no complaints. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Free on site parking.

Unfortunately the hotel is from another era. Badly needs refurbishing. At €187.50 for a tiny single room it is also very pricey for what you get. Breakfast is adequate but no more than that. Hopefully the family can and will find a way to upgrade.

Centrally located hotel. Good parking at rear, if difficult to locate! Reception was friendly. Room was spacious with a large bathroom. I kept the curtains closed as the room appeared to be opposite another room! The bar was friendly and the food was enjoyable. Staff were professional and courteous. Recommended.
