My daughter and I had a fabulous trip to The Cairndale Spa on Sunday for our birthdays. We were welcomed with a lovely hot cloth and a cold smoothie! Then to the lovely changing rooms with super fluffy green robes and slippers to use, presented in a cute bag. The changing rooms had hairdryers and GHD straighteners. The spa itself is superb, beautiful swimming pool with various jacuzzi bubbles and water jets. A nice jacuzzi pool and several sauna and steam rooms - we had a wee shot in all of them but didn’t go so far as to use the ice bath! In between you can relax on the funky loungers. We had a lovely glass of Prosecco while chilling in the egg chairs by the pool. There are also relaxing water beds which was certainly a first for me! So comfy. After spending nearly 4 hours relaxing we showered, changed and went upstairs again for a lovely 2 course lunch. The staff were all very attentive and we were made to feel special. We even got birthday cards. All in all a super experience and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful - thoroughly recommend this experience.

Arrived for a weekend break with friends. Good parking and lovely reception area. We went to our rooms to drop our cases off. Quite surprised with the rooms. very small and dated. The room had a nice bathroom and a powerful shower. We went out for diner and returned later. The bed was terrible and so uncomfortable, and also the constant traffic noise through the night was unbearable. If you are thinking of staying, maybe ask for a room away from the front of the hotel. We went to breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed what was on offer, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were thinking of having a swim in the spa but were told we had to book a session and that it would cost £90 per couple. We decided not to bother so can't really comment on it.

Had a lovely Spa Day and can’t wait to come back! The spa itself is fantastic very modern and beautiful! The afternoon tea was delicious and I had the most relaxing facial! Would highly recommend! The staff are all really friendly and helpful too! Xx

What a beautiful hotel! Our two day stay was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. The staff were all very welcoming and could not do enough to make our stay fabulous. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the bar area was very welcoming too. The new spa is something in itself, just fantastic as are the staff. I had a two hour treatment, which was amazing. I certainly would highly recommend.

Absolutely faultless and amazing. Started with a lovely lady phoning the day before to check Dietary requirements and welcome us in advance. On the day, Staff, facilities and afternoon tea were just perfect. Can’t recommend a visit enough. Nothing was too much and the extra touches made it a very special experience. Wherever you stay in Dumfries & Galloway, l Recommend taking an afternoon out to Visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Late Birthday treat , lovely stay , room a wee bit dated but believe they being refurbished , area already refurnished lounge etc were fantastic, very friendly and helpful staff , we ate in both the restaurant and lounge during our stay both amazing.

Had a great break in this hotel. Would use this hotel again if visiting Dumfries again. Rooms. Clean Dining room clean Breakfast room clean Breakfast was simple but did the job Did not eat in the dining room but had a meal in the lounge. Very good Overall very very good..

I’ve stayed at the Cairndale a few times over the years when seeing family who live in Dumfries and I’m always glad I did. The staff are lovely, the rooms always clean and spacious with really comfy beds. The food is BRILLIANT and we always leave wishing we could stay another night. Special shout out to Douglas (with a capital D) on reception who was just a really happy soul despite the rain outside. We’ll see you again soon!

Having stayed at the Cairndale many times over the years, we've golfed in and around Dumfries. This time was the return since 2017... The new Spa meant we couldn't have a swim each night UNLESS we paid £35 p/p for 2 hrs Thursday and £45 Friday and the weekend. No wonder the Spa was empty... We spoke to locals at the golf clubs we visited and they all criticised the Cairndales attitude towards existing members prior to the Spa refund. Food good still but no coffee after evening meal is offered, and the steak surcharge is now £12 which is a significant increase, staff are still pleasant and welcoming but bedrooms need refurbishment with USB chargers in plug sockets..And more plug sockets as 3 including tv is not enough.. Overall the price we paid with golf went up 20% or so but still ok on value, BUT Cairndale don't forget the golfers who bring business to Dumfries, open your pool for £5 per person per evening and your clientèle may be more favourable
