Arrived to the accommodation only to find that the reservation made by us through Agoda was unexplainably cancelled! And booked by someone else… No prior notice to us about the cancellation was given, in fact we have received a confirmation email from Agoda only an hour before we arrived there. Money were not paid to the proprietor, nor refunded to us. After initial confusion, disbelief and numerous calls to Agoda, that remained answered, we realized that us as well as the owner of the property were victims of fraud or total failure in Agoda’s operations. My husband and I decided to deal with Agoda and all that mess when we are back home and with help of Marinko, the owner of the apartment, we booked another accommodation. Marinko was more than understanding and helpful considering that he was put in a horrible situation needing to kick us out as the place was booked by other people. He helped with booking for us alternative accommodation, provided free transportation to this accommodation and even provided transportation to the airport after our stay in Dubrovnik. Marinko’s apartment was comfortable, air conditioned and well equipped with nice view. As nice as it is, being typical Dubrovnik apartment, you need to walk up lots of steep steps. Heavy luggage is not recommended and some degree of physical fitness advisable.
